Problem with running Trainz Simulator 2009

I just upgraded to 2009. The install went okay

I re-booted my machine and lauch from the icon that was installed on my desktop and the Launcher appeared.

It started up and I selected driver. The normal screen showed up. When I selected a scenario to run, it hesitated and finally the screen with the barber pole icon showed up and the bar on the pole got almost to the top and then my system locked up.

How can I get it to work?

Have you tried running a different scenario? or a route in Driver? what results do you get then.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried three or 4 this evening with
the same result.

The gray bar gets to almost the top of the barber pole and then nothing

After installing, what was the result of TrainzDiag? If you didn't save it, run it again. It's in the TS2009/BIN folder.

I think the NVIDIA Quadro FX 500 is the problem, did you try running in DX and OpenGL?

Ihave an ATI Radeon 800X. Trainz 2009 requires GL grasphics and, from trial & a reesolution of 1024 x 968!!

Hi, :hehe:
1. Trainz can use either DirectX or OpenGL
2. The nearest resolution to what you are suggesting is 1024 x 768 as pixel counts must be a power of 2.

How long are you leaving it for? Its not inconceivable that a route will take upwards of 10 minutes to load.

Can you get the routes to load in Surveyor?

in content maneger i try to download somthing and when its fineshed i start trainz and go to check my if my download works but it does not come up and when i come out of it and back into content maneger it does the same one like always

Firstly, I would suggest you register your serial number for any PC versions you have installed. Click Planet Auran, then Serial Number,, then fill in the form.
