Problem with leaving a carrage at a Trackmark

The problem is that the carrage will not stay at the trackmark, the carrage keeps rolling as there is a slope.

In Al the loco is shunting a carrage to a Trackmark, uncouple, wait 10 seconds, horn and then driver to another trackmark.

Could someone please advise me how I stop the carrage at the trackmark. Do I need to add any other command.

Thanks,

Jeff

I think you'd need to enable the handbrake. Not sure if there is anything built-in that can do that, but there is a driver command that should be able to do it. It's also possible to do it through a keyboard command. (In TS2010 and possibly earlier versions the key in DCC mode is A or apostrophe. Cab mode I'm not so sure about.) While I haven't tested this, I think if you were to set the handbrake, uncouple the car, and then release the handbrake that should do the trick.

I experienced this issue once as well. What I do now is set the air brakes prior to uncoupling the car(s) and than they seem to keep their brake pressure. Not sure how realistic this is but it works for me. I was once doing some switching in a route I was working on and I turned the camera and noticed the consist I just uncoupled rolling down the mainline! I had to quickly chase them down with the GP9. While it was quite entertaining, I think the poor engineer and brakeman got the axe from csx...

It's also a good idea thet any area you make(like a yard or industry area) that will need shunting or uncoupling be flat and even. Yards in particular can turn nasty if you have stock running around by itself. Chasing it? hmmmm. Haven't tried that.

There is a "stop train"command that worked good for uncoupling cars,it works like this (drive to trackmark, stop train, uncouple from car.) The "stop train" command, stops the train and set the breaks on all cars in that train.
