Problem posting an image

In the distant past I have successfully posted images on to the screenshots forum. Have just tried to do so again to show my new route, but when I paste the link address using the 'Link' from the menu , it simply pastes the full image address into the post and not the IMG codes that seem to be necessary to show the image on screen. That address obviously gives a link for anyone to go to my photobucket area to view all images - not what I intended. I am not sure what my error is though obviously I have missed a step! I have read the Sticky on posting images but it seems not to correspond with the present interface! Any advice please!

Don't use the Link option - you want the Insert Image option.

Thanks for quick response - I have just tried that and all I seem to get is a small image icon in preview after pasting in the photobucket address - but not the actual picture! What am I not doing right!

Do you have a tick box at the bottom of that screen? If so, untick it.

It may also be that the address you are using is for thumbnail images rather than the full size ones.

Sorry Shane - I am missing the obvious somehow! I am sure the address I copy from Photobucket is the full address for the image. Can't find a tickbox to untick.

Keep trying suggestions and go to preview but it never shows as i am expecting it to.

Discovered the obvious! I was copying the address of the thumbnail without realising it! You were right - problem solved. Thanks.

I copy the Direct Link ... Then post it on the Forum by pasting the "direct ink" into the "Insert Image" tool button
