Problem downloading trains (Sp 4449 & Thomas The Train)

Hi

I have tried several times to download trains for my son. He is especially interested in trains from 'Thomas the Train' & also SP 4449 (American Flyer).

He has got 'Trainz Simulator 2009, World Builder edition'.

It is not an issue finding these for download, but after having completed the download the models does not become available to select. Thaught I had success in downloading the SP 4449 - was possible to pick from the list, but the train itself was not visible

All hints and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mads_0 and welcome to the forums,

As you are a 2009 user it is more than liley that the downloads that you have got are faulty or missing dependancies which is preventing them from showing up in the game.

Open Content Manager and use the search pane on the left hand side to find the assets that you are havng problems with (Use keyword searching and enter the name of the assets). When they appear on the right hand pane there will be small icons alongside them which will show if they have faulty dependancies, missing dependancies or if the asset itself has faults.

Take a look in content manager and then post back with details of what you find

Do you know where I can find downloads without faults/defects?

Hi Thomas,

Only things created for your version of Trainz are likely to be fault free. Try to find assets with a minimum build number of 2.9 and these should be fine. Otherwise take a look at fixing the assets yourself. Many are not difficult to fix and you will always find help from others on the forum. just work through each problem in turn and ask when you get stuck

I am not a Mac user so am not speaking from experience but do know that there is not a 'Mac specific' download category for the download station so would guess that normal Trainz versions assets could work.

There is a Mac specific section of this forum though here where you are bound to find the answer if you re-post your question there.
