Making assumptions that people use PM's to share kuids is imho
an overly-suspicious one.
Perhaps this may happen using email accounts, but I would have thought that the sharing of kuids would be between people working on as-yet unreleased projects, & that these kuids would therefore not yet be released to the Trainz community at large. Alphas & Betas etc included.
And certainly no 'sharing' of other people's kuids without their approval.
That is naughty.
I have only ever used PM's to contact certain people on either off-topic things, such as:-
...... requesting an email address, so as to discuss personal Trainz Projects I'm working on.
(And retain confidentiality until it is released &/or other parties involved have given their consent for public release/viewing).
....... or discuss a point of view privately, & not necessarily to do with the thread's topic etc.
....... or request further assistance with some complex problem.
The outcome of which may or may not be later shared on-forum, depending on my deliberations of if it's suitability.
....... personally share a point of view or encourage someone, hopefully reducing the potential to 'feed' a contentious issue even further.
just my thoughts, & in no way intended to 'affront' anyone.
This is good healthy discussion.
