Private message sent folder for replies.

I have a question on the private message function on this forum. When you send a reply to a private message that you receive, should that not show up in your "sent" folder, so you will have some record that you sent it? I replied to a PM yesterday, that I had initiated, and nothing shows in my sent folder.

While we are talking about the vagaries of the forum, why do I have to press F5 after logging in, and why do I get logged off after about 10 minutes?

...why do I get logged off after about 10 minutes...

...but the second (above) problem sounds like an inactivity problem...

The setting of automatic log off to 10 mins, or so, of inactivity is not a new problem but it's a real pain if you have left the forum for any reason, such as checking a solution to somebody's posted problem and sometimes just typing a reply can take a while ! Often, having been logged off, when you return to the forum you can't retrieve the list of "New Posts" entries, so are left with the option of searching each section of the forums or just forgetting it. I can understand there may be technical reasons for disconnecting users, like limited numbers on available connections and I'm not familiar with the VBulletin forum software but I would guess that there may be some better options in the available settings, if Auran/N3V can spare someone to look at the problem.

Never been logged out or timed out here and I leave the forum on for hours sometimes while I'm working on the other PC. Has to be a user setting somewhere I would think.

Two things you can do to lessen the automatic log-out problem:

1. Check the "Remember Me" box when logging in. You'll still be automatically logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity, but you'll automatically be logged in again once you do something on the forum (e. g. click the "Submit" or "Preview" button after writing a forum post). All threads showing as "unread" before will now show as "read" as a result.

2. Open the forum's "Who's Online" page in a seperate browser tab or window while you write your forum post or whatever. This page automatically refreshes every minute or so, keeping you logged in.

Regards,

Zachary.
