posting a screenshot

You will need to upload it to a photo sharing site like PhotoBucket or FotoShack (these are examples - there are quite a few)

Once it is uploaded to one of the photo sharing sharing sites, click the sharing option to get the link for posting here.

psferg,

First you need to create an account with an image posting website such as imageshack or photobucket. You can create a screenshot in Trainz by pressing the Print Screen button whilst in the game (its best to do this in driver and to hit F5 first to de-clutter the screen). Follow the instructions on your image hosting website to upload the screenshot to there (you will find the screenshot in a folder called screenshots, which is in your Auran game folder (inside a folder called user data in 2009 SP4 and later)

In you image hosting webpage select the screenie that you want to post here and right click in it and select properties. Copy the hyperlink for the shot (it will start with http:// and end in .jpg.....you dont need anything that appears after that)

Come back here to the forum and open the thread that you want to post your screenshot in. Click to post a reply and in the top of the new window that opens you will see a yellow icon that looks a bit like and envelope with a stamp in the corner and a landscape picture on the front. An explorer bar will open at the top of your screen (in some versions of windows this will be blocked as a security risk but it is safe to right click on the warning bar and select 'temporarily allow pop ups', click the yellow icon again if you had to allow pop ups and then paste the http://..... link from your image hosting site into the explorer bar. Click OK and your screenie will appear in your post.

You might also check with your ISP. My ISP is comcast and they provide each account with 1GB of online storage at no additional charge.

I`m also trying to post pics, I tried to use imageshack but my screenshots from trs2006 are tga files and the imageshack website says it doesn`t support tga files. Will it work on photobucket or do I have to convert them to jpeg`s somehow?

As rweber95 points out, most ISP let you have some web space as part of their service. Mine gives me 20MB of free space to upload stuff.

There is also a photo album web space in Windows Live, part of the Hotmail mail service. Where one can upload some screenshots and link to these.

There are many free web sites one can subscribe to, where you can upload stuff including pictures and screenshots. The downside with these free web sites is, they usually are loaded with adverts when accessing these, just like photo bucket and the like.

*Edit: If you would like to find free web sites, just Google:
