Possible to import tz2006 content into 2010?

Now, to your question.

Open CMP in 2010, Click on "file". Click on "import content". Direct it to where the 2006 assets are located. Expect it to take quite awhile to complete.

Also, expect to have to correct errors to get assets to work in 2010. Out of approx. 50,000 assets I transferred, I had 3500 with errors. 90%+ were errors in the config files. Easily fixed with a text editor. IrfanView and some of PEV's programs will fix the rest. There are plenty of threads on the forum about fixing errors.

Stick with 2010. 2006 has plenty of its own problems. Have both installed on my system. Probably have not run 06 more than 5 time since installing 2010.

Yes, you can import a route. Open CMP in 2006. Find your route. Right click on the route. Then "save to CDP". Then use "import CDP" in 2010 CMP to install in 2010. I am not aware of a way to bring all the route dependencies with it. There may be a way that someone else knows of. However, once it is installed in 2010 you could use CMP to find the assets on the DLS and get them from there. After those were installed, CMP would show any that were not on the DLS and you would have to get them from 2006. Assuming they were not missing in 2006.

If you save the route to an archive, that will grab all (in theory) of the dependencies that go with the route as well. You can then install the archive into 2010.

That should work, but watch out for 4 things:

1.Trainz will not add any built-in content to the archive.
2.The archive is likely to be several hundred MB (or possibly larger)
3.I have found it does not always add all dependencies unless it is done fully.
4.During the archiving process, do not touch the mouse or keyboard: CMP may crash if you do - also CMP may crash if you have a lot of content.
