PORTALS

I know this question has been asked, but a lot of conflicting answers.
I have a route with a 5 stations along it, and a train will come out of the portal tunnel and drive to all the trackmarks open and close doors--fine...but the next train just sits outside the portal until the previous one has finished all of it's schedule. It is well signalled and all signals to the first trackmark (calling point) are green but no movement, which is annoying as i would like trains to run 5 minutes behind each other over 15 mile route. It is swt based 4 tracks and no points whatsoever. I know it is probably a simple command i am missing but what one(s)
any help would be gratefully appreciated so i can sit back and enjoy watching the trains run regularly with my son
regards Peter

Your using the "copy commands from" rule for consists emitted from the portal ?
Hover mouse curser over the first green signal (from where the consist is stopped), what does the message say. Should be clear from what you say.
Another thought, perhaps a few invisible junctions may help. No reason behind that one, it's Ai logic.

thankyou fran1--brilliant advice--i have just just had a play with invisible junctions and they seem to be doing the trick--have just had trains on the copy commands running 2 mins behind each other--will have a play with some strategically placed inv junctions and signals as well now
cheers

It is really hard to say. If you would like to send it to me I will have a look and tell you what is wrong. It should work because I have the same type of route where a portal summits a train evey 15 min.

Just a lucky guess, plain track with no points and Ai's, they're looking at the train ahead not the signals.
A set of points before each station should cure it, no need to go daft. Add them in the route layer, also you may need to set the points against the main line.

have placed one set between each station and one just after the first signal after the portal and it is working fine
regards ( a very happy) Peter
