Seeing the title of this post I was hoping for the music video by the same name and I wasn't disappointed. Although living in Southeast Asia I do miss my rural southern US up bringing by seeing this video. Yet another reason to love Trainz.

Here where I live (in South Florida) they actually paint real houses pink. Its called Palm Beach Pink and is garish as you can imagine. Whats even odder is its the very rich folks on Palm Beach that do it. If I had that kind of $$$ I certainly wouldn't paint my house to look like a garden flamingo, lol.

Yeah, I remember that...they did it a lot in Daytona too. Also Miami Vice-ish yellow and green pastels.

Never noticed that in Daytona but then the only times I've been there were for Bike Week and Biketoberfest where everything is in leather colors, lol.

When I was a child my father had PINK aluminum siding put on our house. I think it scarred me for life. I have never forgiven him.

Ha ha - how true. My wife works at the local hospital and one of the doctors ordered a whole bunch of exotic wood from South America for the outside of his house on the water. The gent that later bought it painted the entire outside Palm Beach Pionk. My wife happened to see the dortor a few months later and told what his buyer did. Thought the doc was gonna cry on the spot. It was beautiful before - not after. Your old saying was certainly true in his case.
