Okay, thanks, that's what happens to me too. I see stuff in routes and I dont even know its name or where I got it.

Give the kid a chance.
I think the shots were pretty good, for a newbie.
And now that he learned to post screenies, he is on the right track.

As long as the route works, he can work on details later.
I dont think anyone made a "Perfect route" the first time.

Keep the shots commin Iced;)

Lars

thanks...

i'll keep the shots coming

here's one that will get everyone's attention.

haha probably. I thought at first the :mop: was a shark fin.

Here's yet another one...

the heavily weathered CSX GP40-2 #6288 contiues to perform well even after the weathering:

here's one thats going to send everyone jumping up and down.

The mighty CSX GP40-2 #4410 waits to go out and haul a train:

come to think of it, my pictures are looking pretty good...

:Y::Y::Y::Y::Y::Y::Y::Y::Y::Y:

now THAT'S what i call longest list of smilies!

CSX Cleaning an engine? Not likely. lol

The route is flatout boring. One texture, a few humps for mountains... The track?

I wouldn't suggest using Tyler's tracks, from USLW, because from the looks of your screens, they'll kill your FPS.

Its a nice start but you are nowhere next to finished.

you can't expect a perfect route from a newbie...

anyways, heres my newest photo.

the CSX GP40-2 #6119 is out of the CSX yard and is ready to take on any challenge with its 3 car autorack consist:

it probably won't kill my FPS.

i have a powerful computer.

it runs both '04 and '06 at a level of exceeds expectations.

it's another fictional route of mine...

if i attempt to model a real world route, it'll kill me.

i tried creating the BNSF red rock sub, and it looked horrible.

here comes another screenshot...

i had done a few laps around the mountain railroad and decided i wanted to give you guys a screenshot of the tallest builiding of my route. so i took this screenshot from an external view of my PB15. here is a picture of the tallest building, the place villa marie:

Well i think my engines look pretty good:cool:
The route.........errrrrr...it needs some work lets just say, like alot of work.
Tips:
-Use more than one damn texture ( i happen to remember me saying this is exactly what the route would look like earlier:o )
-Scenery.......
-Do not use default track (or plain bad track if its not default)
-do not have excessively steep grades unless its narrow guage, or in extreme circumstances like if you are modeling saluda, even then they must look natural which yours dont.
-Do not use excessively tight curves unless its for NG or streetcars.
-Make loner sidings, those coal tipple sidings are too short to be of any use.

As a note i dont see how any one can compare this to the "Minamalist Scenery" thread, totally different and not even comparable, that route has some exquisite texturing work to make up for not having trees, plus Patagonia is pretty baren anyways.

Well ill say that atleast you can take screenshots now, thats the first step;)
