Well, the first month was fairly succesfull. We will start the new contest. Here are the rules:

1. All pictures must be your own
2. All pictures must be taken on real trains
3. Model train pics will be accepted this month
4. Pictures larger than 800 x 600 cannot be posted. Links must be provided.
5. All entries posted in 2009 will receive a one-point deduction
6. You are only allowed to post one picture.

Well, I believe I have covered everything. If you have any concerns, please contact me. I'll start off.

The Via Rail Ocean pulls into Halifax with the 6400 at the head of the train.

I have 2 questions young man please ??

Does the photograph have to be physically taken this month, or can we use an old one ? It's a bit cold standing about next to railtracks at this time of year for some of us....:p

To the non-Americans amongst us, what exactly does question No. 7 actually mean please ??
quote "7. Shots with Holiday themes will be considered for a point addition."

Thank you.

For your first question, the picture can be taken any time of the year. My picture was taken in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in July.

As for number 7, it will be deleted. I was considering giving a bonus vote to shots that had Holiday themes (Christmas specials, trees, etc.), but I see know that that may cause some trouble. Thanks for your questions

while not the greatest pic I'll post it because it is interesting.

This is right out side my door step in Parkhills Missouri Along the St.Gen Branch (Union Pacific RR)

No website :(
I haven't got that many train shots really, its just that I improve the ones I do have in Photoshop Elements or Gimp depending on my mood :hehe:

A DSLR also helps, even the cheapest (mine) is still better than any point and click.

Nice catch with the triple header :D
Cheers David

Well, 2008 is coming to a close. At midnight tonight (US Eastern Time), the contest will be over. Any late entries will recieve a one-point deduction. Have fun!
