Permissive Signal Blocks

Hello. I have been experimenting with Justin Cornell's searchlight signals. I have been placing blocks of permissive signals 3 miles apart. I have noticed that when I have a train "tailgating" another, Trainz wants to put 2 clear blocks between them, instead of 1. This is puzzling. Anybody know why this is going on? I am used to having the train in front roll up past the end of the first block and trigger a caution for the second train. 2 blocks is a bit much.

Thanks.

2 Signal block.

Don't quote me on this but here in Australia we use a two signal separation rule. At least we do here in New South Wales and I suspect that they do in Queensland as well. Seeing as Auran is an Australian company I wonder if this could be the reason for your problem as the program has been taught to default to the safeworking over here.

As I say it's only a guess and I'm prepared to be proven wrong.

G'day FLWBSTrainman,

As noted by Railwayz, the same applies here in Victoria and I believe it holds true for all English signalling systems that are of a similar nature. In fact, I would say that it's fair bet that such 'additional protection' is S. O. P. world wide...

...anything less would be nothing short of dangerous and very, very unsafe...
