PBR Ground Textures

It seems there is a connection between PBR texture size and Crash To Desktop events. My experience; I was/am in the process of constructing very routes which are heavy in on the ground texture size. I have in excess of 300 PBR 4.6 environmental on the DLS plus another 300 of my own that I have not u/l as yet, and not to mention other PBR textures.

The textures were made from instructions posted here on the Forums and elsewhere. Ninety-nine percent start-out with a texture that is 2048 X 2048, and do not mention the final texture size when used in-game. I and other texture creators were not concerned about the final texture size, as long as it looked good it was ok by me!

So I started building, importing routes from T10-T12 & TANE, I published my PVR process on the forums. All of those routes, about 8+, have CTD issues.

Some of my own ground texture creations and others have pushed their size to 100MB, with the average about 20MB. These assets add a hefty size to a route. I have began the process of downsizing files, reducing the dimensions to 1024 X 1024 and DPI to 72 on the abeno and normal maps, and 128 X 128 on the Parameter maps, I don't see a big difference or degrading of the texture.
As an example, a texture that was 50.7MB was reduced to 7.1MB. I will be uploading the reworked Kuids to the DLS.
