Payware Help

I downloaded the Murchison 2, Classic Cabon City, and Blue Comet addon packs from Simulator Central. Apparently Murchison 2 tried to install itself into a non-existant 2009 and didn't show up in my TS12 content manager. My blue comet started to install itself into TS2010, but I stopped it before it could install yet another non-existant version of Trainz on my computer (i already have 2004 and 2009 icons, even though the programs aren't there). This is my first time purchasing payware and i can't figure out what to do with it. I haven't even done anything with Cabon City yet. Please helP I spent $15 on this and that is 3 weeks' allowance:'(.
EDIT: I have the .JA files from Murchison 2 and Cabon City in my TS12 builtins folder, now how do I install them?

Ethan,

No worries. You still have the downloads on your computer so the software is not wasted.

What you can try is to first uninstall those packages that went to the wrong places.

Reinstall them, but listen carefully...

When you reinstall you'll see the path where they want to go by default which will be C:\Program Files (x86)/Auran/TS2009, or something similar.

What you need to do is click on the "..." button on the right side, and navigate to your TS12 install.
Once you do that you can procede with the installation normally.

Hint: Now to save you the trouble of having to type the serial numbers, I suggest you go to the SimCentral website and copy the serial number from each package to a text file. When you go to install the Murchison 2 for example, all you need to do is COPY the Murch2 serial number and paste it into the box that requires it. Do the same for each of the other packages. This will save you a lot of pain during the installation process. :)

I what????
I was putting my TS12 serial number in.
But even before I select the path it asks me to do a 2009 license agreement or something. Cabon City also tries to install into 2010...

It looks like you're confused .

Let's do this from scratch.

Uninstall the add-ons.

You will have to agree to a license agreement anyway. This is normal. If I recall TRS2009 is mentioned in there.

Do not put your TS12 serial number in. Put in your Cabon City serial number you got from Simulator Central. (Copy and paste this in).

By default the program wants to install into TS2010 even if you don't have the program.

As I said above click on the "..." to change the path to your TS12 install and follow along normally.

I wish you had VNC loaded. I'd login remotely and help you, but I'm not sure if you parents would allow this. I do this all the time for work it's an awesome way to support situations like this.

A: What is VNC, and B:are the other serial numbers sent by email? Because I haven't gotten them yet.

A: What is VNC, and B:are the other serial numbers set by email?

VNC is a third-party remote access program that allows someone with the viewer to actually take over another computer anywhere in the world. It works great for support situations where an engineer needs to get in and fix something for someone. Now a lot of people don't like this on their computer so it's probably best to forget this idea, besides computer criminals and hackers can user this too for nasty work as well!

Your serial numbers are listed in the My Downloads in your Simulator Central Account.

Just go to the website.
Highlight the text
Choose Edit and Copy.

(right mouse-button click and choose copy does the same thing).

Open up NotePad.exe ---- Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, Notepad.

Click in the Notepad text window.

Click on Edit,

Click on Paste.

(Alternatively you can press Ctrl+V to do the same thing).

Now when you install the add-ons correctly, and are prompted for the serial number:

Highlight the correct serial number in Notepad.
Choose Copy

Click in the serial number window in the installer.

Press CTRL+V to paste the serial number in the window.

All my add ons defaulted right into TS12

I also have had no trouble at all with several purchases from the new site, got the emails , installed all from there , copied and pasted the serial numbers from the emails using the installer provided and away I went on my merry way.

I was having problems because I was entering my TS12 serial number instead of my content serial number. Also, is there a way to make it automatically add texture.txt files when you save it to a CDP becauseI'm not going to go through the whole process of making those for every single file to get them into TS:MAC.

In the future, whenever you download a CDP file from other than the DLS, just open your Trainz version to the content manager window, and drag the CDP file into it. It will install correctly.
