Patching- Failed to create backup of...

Well I didn't find how anyone else solved it, but for me it was:

Install Trains, run it, quit, install first patch.

Run again, quit, install next patch. Repeat until all patches are done.

It seems the patch routine can't create backups because there is already a backup from the previous patch. Starting the game successfully then seems to wipe the old backups and allow the next patch to re-create them.

Apologies if this is duplicate info!

Hi Just A Geek,

Welcome to the forums.

We welcome the suggestions, but it would help us if you could register your product. We have no idea which version of Trainz you are speaking about.

If you have already registered under a previous username, or have difficulties registering, contact the helpdesk and they will assist you with your account.

Not registering your Trainz version will lead to constant harassment in the forums regarding registration and reduced support from the community.

Thank you and regards,

Hi John,

Its the Just Trains Railway Simulator boxed version (Trainz 12)

I thought it was registered as part of the install routine when i had to sign up for an account and it checks the activation key.

If the info is not helpful, feel free to delete.

Cheers!

Nothing wrong with the info - it's actually quite helpful. To register your version, simply click Planet Auran above, then click Serial Number on the left, then fill in the form.
