Patches?

I have noticed mention about patches in a few threads. In particular, Phil Skene said he had trouble getting the patches to work until he upgraded to Win 7 from XP. ( I have XP ) But, I am downloading 2010 as I type this ( boy it's a big one ), and was wondering whether or not the version I am downloading today is already "patched"?

There are no issues with XP; seems to me, if anything, XP has fewer issues than Win7 or Vista e.g. Administrator Mode issues, etc. Just make sure you have XP SP3 applied. Your Trainz service pack will probably be at 42203 (SP2) already, from what I've seen from others, but you won't know for sure until you install. Patching take a long time, just be patient.

Oh, yeah. Be sure you want to patch. Patches introduce new glitches. Most are pretty minor, but word is the SP3 (43434 and later) patches introduce two new problems in Surveyor. One issue can be easily worked around, the other is a mere annoyance, but I decided not to patch until those issues were fixed since patience is not my strong suit.

Get the build number of your install from the bottom right hand corner of the main menu and compare it to the patches listed on this page. The build you are aiming for is 44088. Apart from one minor glitch I have had no issues with patching TS2010 running under XP

Thanks all. Installation went fine, no problems. First time trying to run, program identified patch, and installed with no problems. Initial screen says 44088.

Hi ,i downloaded the game from steam , and build no is 43361, so i downloaded the patch build 43233 -> 44088 , i donno how to apply it as i downloaded from steam
anyone has got an idea?

Pretty sure the 'Steam' versions require their own dedicated patch, so if you went with that option your sorta stuck...

Hi all, i have justed purchesed the blue comet pack and tryed to install, it sayed that i need SP3, do i downloaded it, went to install SP3 and guess wat happened, bloody gave me a blue screen:'( , can someone please help, oh i am running xp SP2

You must be running SP3 for Windows XP in order to install Trainz patches (or even run Trainz properly.

You can download this using Windows/Microsoft Update, or from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&displaylang=en.
