Thanks.
:'( AMD ATHLON 2 BY 4 640 PROCESSOR,ATI RADEON HD 5450 528MB VC, 500MB HD. I did diag, found several line highlighted, but could not understand meaning,Bought this comp.1 month ago.Comp free and clean of anything else but what is essential to run + TZ2009@10. 2009 runs better then ok but 10 runs then stops, jumps for some reason not as smooth and stable as thing it should. Thanks :'(

That error can happen if you have XP SP2 compatibility mode set on the Trainz files, which is normally not needed.

You can check this by right-clicking the Trainz files (or even the Trainz shortcut), clicking Properties, and checking the top tickbox on the Compatibilty tab - it should be unticked.

The autopatcher is not very good, though. What build number is your version?

problem patching TZ2010

That's a known issue with the autopatcher.

Download and install the following manual patch:

http://download.ts2009.com/patch/42203_to_44088.exe.

Shane
Thanks Shane. I tried per your advice but still encounter same problem, see my reply on above tread.Unchecking a tick box helped ,sim running better then b4 but not as easy flowing as TZ2009,but I can leave with that.Hopefully if... and when i bring my TZ2010 up to date will have more stable sim. Thanks:confused:

Have you made sure that Trainz is running as admin?

If so, there is a good chance that your antivirus software is intefering - turn off it's on-access protection during the patching.

Will try again

How-to off antivirus to patch/Direct X

Shane,I am not sure where to turn off my antivirus, I have checked just about everywhere I could think of,but no such a option where I look,You not talking about window defender/firewall? Of course I can remove Antivirus Program all together and then reinstall it. If you know more professional method of turning of antivirus, please let me know. While I have your attention 1 more Q? want to ask about "DIRECTX" after I did Trainz diag.,result i got, states "DIRECTX:VERSION 9.0 OR LATER" . I may have later version or maybe a 9.0 which i understand needed to run TZ09@10 correctly. Please advice.Thank You again for your time.:'(

What antivirus tool are you using? (AVG, Norton, Mcafee etc)

To check which version of DirectX is detected by the system, click Start, then Run, then type in 'dxdiag', then click OK.

The tool that appears will tell you which version it has detected (should be DirectX 11 for Windows 7)

Also, try the redist method of updating using my sticky thread in this forum (if that fails, try the web install method)

As far as antivirus I run "webroot antivirus and spy sweeper".If I dont find answer how to disable a/v,will uninstall it and then reinstall it. Thanks again. PS.I run tz10 as admin.

Excuse me for butting in Shane, But can't you just turn webroot off using the Task Manager, then turn it back on again when you've finished?

I would do an EDR as well, just in case there is a fault with the Data, as faulty data can, and often dose, lead to failed patches.

It may do, but it requires knowledge of exactly which processes are related to Webroot, as well as a chance of the process(es) either denying access or simply restarting themselves.

NEED EXTRA BRAIN TO PATCH THE PATCHER

After reading the Webroot site, it appears that on later versions it may not be possible to disable the antivirus shields (see http://support.webroot.com/cgi-bin/...Xh0PXdlYnJvb3QgYW50aXZpcnVz&p_li=&p_topview=1)

I turn off a/v,downloaded patch to my download file, then I run patch, still same msgs on Trainz Patcher"no valid operation was specified, patch file not applicable to your curr.instal.version".Reading past treads it was suggested to save file to TZ10 folder and then run it.Is that suggestion is still valid, and how I do that.I think I am experiencing 'BRAIN FREEEEEZE':'( Thanks.

When patching, you need to make sure it's patching the correct version - right at the top of the patcher window, there will be a folder reference, and a .. button.

If the folder shown is not your TS2010 folder, then click the .. button to select the correct folder.

Also, make sure that you have the correct patch for your build number.
