Parallel running

It can be interesting running parallel to an AI train. Taken on the new extension to IndustRail (work in progress):

Phil,
What an awesome layout so far. Question... Using the TRX or TXX (can't remember) container cars.. how did you get them to DOUBLE STACK?

Hi bible --

" ... the TRX or TXX (can't remember) container cars ... "

They're the TTX Econo cars from the Download Station, kuid 164988:30066.

" ... how did you get them to DOUBLE STACK?"

For the AI trainz I use the "Instant Load" rule in the portal path scripting. The AI train is emitted from the portal and then instantly loads the first load in the config.txt file of the freight car.

In the original version of these cars the first load is a single 43' YML container. But it looks very monotonous seeing a long string of well cars with identical containers. So I modified the config.txt file to put 2 x 40' containers at the beginning of the load configuration scripting. The multi-colors of the 40 footers is very pleasing.

They are packaged up in the .cmpa archive file mentioned in my Post #5 here:

Hi Roy --

" ... will it be 04 compatible or have you gone over to 09?"

Yes to both. The route was made and is packaged in 04 because I still find 04 easiest for route construction (though that may change). The Rapidshare link for downloading the .cdp file for route is here:

While the route will work in both 04 and 09, the sessions are for TRS2009 only. If you see this thread you will understand why:

I've (we?) just gotta face up to the fact that frame rates are so much better in 09. Using the second core of a dual core PC for the AI now gives us the ability to run more realistic AI (more frequent, longer, ...), and CM2 is a significant advance over the horrible CMP that came with 06. All excellent reasons to move on.
