Find your maps in CM under the "My Content" tab in your older Trainz versions, right click, select "Save As CDP", give the file a name and tell it where to save the file.
Then open CM in Trainz 12, click on "File" in the top left corner and select "Import CDP", find your route CDP's in the box that pops up and click on them, click "OK" and your done.
Make sure they are committed if you don't have this option set to automatic by opening the "Open For Edit" tab and checking it is empty.

Just a comment on the above post. While this may bring your "old" map into TRS 12, it may be devoid of assets or nearly so because the necessary content is not in your TRS 12 Data Base or not "updated" to TRS 12 standards..

Once the map is in 2012 use CMP to download it. CMP will attempt to download the map and all dependencies will also be downloaded with all the latest assets installed. You then need to check for missing assets for those that CMP did not find.

Funny thing happens: I was able to import my map into tr12. It was there and I was able to open it! But many, I mean many assets were missing. DLS could not find them, so I would have to re-construct a lot of things. No problem, it is part of the "fun of the game", besides it would be better than before as many new buildings as such are nicer than years ago. But, after seveal days working of re-construction, it is not in the menu anymore!. Shure I can see it in CMP, so far the only error showing is for "carrate" or something like this. Rebuilding database changes nothing, it still is missing. This brings us to the next issue: Most of my locos and rolling stock, many made by very well detailed creators, and better than what NV3 has, can't be used because of compatibility problem. I am shure someone has a gizmo to repair or convert assets. If so, where do I go for this? Thanks to anyone that answers...

Hate to say I predicted this would happen. Use PEV's Tools to make repairs. Not all assets will be fixable.

Edit your config.txt for the route.

I've had trouble with importing older routes. They error on missing thumbnails and era parameters. Edit these, and your route should work fine. You may have to do the same with the session as well.

This issue has been reported to the helpdesk and the developers are looking into it.
