Does anybody know of some old west industries that are interactive. I've tried a search in the forums and google and have come up empty.
Thanks

try carson carshops,pencil42 has some nice industry-interactive assets you can use and there is the DLS you can use to find what your looking for, have fun!

Thanks for the tip. That looks like a good site.

I'm new to this. When I click to download an industry that is GMAX, what do I do when it shows the two files in my temporary folder?

Thanks,
Novice Scott

Object Categories

The TRS2006 user's manual talks about Object Categories, but I don't see that in my TRS2009 World Builder. Is it somewhere I'm no looking?

Also, TRS2006 says it uses prefixes like "Turnout" but nothing comes up when I type that in.

Help!

The phrase 'download an industry that is GMAX' doesn't make sense. GMAX is a 3D graphics program used to create objects for Trainz. If you download some kuid files that should have a file extension of .cdp or possibly .zip. What are the filenames with their extensions that you downloaded?

Where in the 2006 manual did you see 'Object Categories'?

Turnouts is another word for a track switch.

Object Categories

When I go to the Carson Carshops, Downloads, Depots and Industries, the source files on the right say GMAX.

Pages 81-84 in the TRS2006 manual talk about an "Industry" category in the scenery object list, a "Fixed Track" category, and "Tside" for trackside objects. But I don't find any of these.

Thanks again.

When you hoover over the pictures with your mouse and click on them, the download process will start using a link to the download station.:)

You're right about the GMAX source files. Those are the source files that the content creator made using Gmax which produce the mesh files that are used in Trainz.

Go to Surveyor and press F3 to open the Objects slide out as shown on the pages you referenced. It has an upper window displaying a list of objects and a bottom window showing a picture of the currently selected object. Between these two windows are 2 gray bars. If you click on the arrows at either end of the lower bar, it will sequence thru the different types of objects such as building, industries, trees, etc.

Try teaming a ProtoLARS/BI/MIN interactive industry up with one of Bendorsey's excellent non-interactive industrial buildings.

You can make some good industries that way.
