OK - I admit it...I'm confused

I have searched around for how an answer, and either I am an idiot or just unable to find the info I am looking for...

I wish to have both cars and trucks spawn on my US late 20th century era route.
In simple steps (to match my old and simple mind), how do I do this?

Which version are you referring to? You have 3 versions registered.

OK. If the issue is what I think it is, it's a simple solution.

In surveyor, click the Surveyor main menu, then click Edit Route. You will need to change the selected Region from Default Region to another region.

which region spawns both cars AND trucks? I see "Trucks" but that only spawns trucks...I am desirous to have both

You may need to create a custom region. Airtime's posts usually contain a link to help with this.

I seem to remember a technique in the old days of Trainz to allow custom vehicles to spawn on roads by simply editing the KUID number of the desired vehicle into the road's Config file - but I have no idea if that's still possible with the latest versions (I've never tried it myself so I have no idea).

In later versions, it is configured in the Region asset.

You can add additional carz to your route (map) kuid config.txt file. At least you can in TS2010. Haven't tried it in TS2012 yet but the current wiki says you can.
