Since 2001
My Floridian neighbors,

It has been raining for days due to Tropical Storm Fay, so be careful while you drive. I went out at 5am yesterday and encountered falling trees, and debris. Visibility was bad ... So, stay home, launch trainz, and be safe ...

Those who needs to go to shelters due your homes flooded, my prayers to you, and good luck!! For you and your families!!

Let's get this baby on topic.....

I remember along time ago when there was flooding in the midwest and they actually used steam engines to stand in for the diesels that couldn't go through the water......Is THAT what it is like in Florida right now?

~30 inches of rain in Brevard County, lots of flooding
~16 inches in my neighborhood (sw Volusia County), no flooding though
Rain for 4.5 days still more to come tonight and maybe in the morning
Lots of fun

Monday: Heavy rain, light wind
Tuesday: Mild wind, light rain
Wed thru Fri: Seasonal weather if not feeder bands from the storm...

Please check out my "Two Upcoming Routes in South Florida" thread on the Screenshots forum, as I have made a railfanning episode for 222 which the real train left on Monday during the effects of TS Fay.

It some counties especially in Brevard ....

Lucky for us, here in Daytona no flooding at all .... :)

The eye of to storm was right on top of here, so we got lucky since the eye doesn't carry the bulk of the thick clouds and rains. Central Florida (in wards) really got hit hard!!

In many ways Florida needed the rain since it hadn't rain in weeks and weeks ... now we got enough to last a long time!!

My pool was over a foot low. Over-flowing now. At 8:30 AM Tuesday I had a dentist appoinment. They called Monday to confirm and didn't call to cancel so I went over - in the storm on a motorcycle. No one there, door locked, parking lot a giant puddle. Gonna get a chunk of my mind next Tuesday. (and yes - I got soaked, lol).

Drainage will always be a problem in Florida. Too darn flat. Port St. Lucie was built in a swamp. Of course its flooded. Water drains into it, not out of it (something I suspect the developers knew but didn't mention). Jupiter Farms is the same. Always floods when we get torrential rains.

I think its about time the good people of Florida start to invest a bit more in "water management" before Miami or any of the other great cities end up like New Orleans did after Katrina.

Pst guys - I know this is Community but I think you'll find it falls out of the general Topic areas that are allowed.

Edit : Try and keep this talking at least a bit about Trainz and it will remain open.

Thank you Lost Soul.... appreciate it!!

On the train topic though, it seems that the rails around here wasn't effected at all! I saw the FEC freight train running north despise the floods situation down south!

Perhaps the other closed topics about non Trainz related issues can also be re-opened now? It surely smells like having double standards here, doesn't it?

Hey guys,

I am going to request this thread to be close or deleted, because I see this situation getting out of hand quite quickly!

On a side note this thread was intended as a message to all who went through this storm, "be safe and careful out there" ...

Thanks for readying ...
Ish
