Objects Disappearing from Certain Areas of Route

Hello all...

Today, I was working on one of my routes when I noticed something odd was happening in one certain area... It appears scenery items, tracks, splines, and baseboards all disappear in this one little spot.

Not pictured, I ran a train through this part of the route. Several cars were not showing, but when they did, some were missing bogeys. Oddly, I get very good frame rates (better than normal) when this happens.

Has anyone seen this before, and how do I fix it?

I am running TS12, build 61388 in DirectX Mode, with DX12 installed.

Matt

Side note: This doesn't happen on any other routes, even more graphically challenging ones. The route has no faulty or missing dependencies, and I have run a Quick Database Repair. Since taking the screenshots, the cornfield spline has been removed from the route (no offense, Dave), still with no luck.

Hello Matt,

I suppose this is a route which you made and saved from the beginning. Did you try to save this route with a different name?

It could also be a certain spline or other object within a certain area which is the result of this phenomenon.

Best regards.

The splines and other objects in these areas are scattered all over the route, including places where I do not have this problem. I will try saving under a different name.

There's some kind of load issue and TS12 is not rendering the assets to prevent the game from crashing. TRS2004 to TS2009 would crash to the desktop while starting with TS2010 to TS12, N3V implemented object culling when the load got to strong for the game to handle so objects disappear.

Find what's causing this can be difficult, but one of the first things I would look at is the grass spline. These can really cause the system to bog down, and so can high-poly objects. Other things including corrupted textures, old assets with no LOD, and so on can cause this as well.

Hmmm... that's the same grass spline I use in all of my routes, many of which are more of a load on the PC, so that probably isn't it. I will do some more investigating and log my progress here.

Hello members,

Yes I have had this problem just recently happening on many downloaded routes where textures are not loading into the map, and white areas are present, tracks not displaying only (after a delay).
As viewed in the above pictures from member epa.
Noticed that when zooming in and out of the map then zooming back closer the textures finally appear.
I read a recent note from another member that Trainz 12 (49922) no problem, however build SP1 build (61388) causing this weird problem. Also noticed that changing view to another consist the rear of the train takes a while to appear on the track.
Maybe technical support may have an answer to the solution.

Hello Matt,

Even if you used the same grass spline within all your routes, for some unknown reason, it can start to misbehave. I have had a problem with a car spline. It functioned perfectly within certain areas, but totally misbehaved within others. Never found the reason why. I must also say, perhaps its a combination of certain elements. Like others, I have also had strange phenomenons. And the odd thing is, some Trainzers also have had strange experiences with several versions of Trainz and others never had problems.

Best regards
