"Not responding"

I have been experiencing problems with my TS12 build 61388: nearly every time I move the surveyor compass a little too quickly, the game freezes and shows "Not Responding". Is this a sign of trouble with the game or of my system such as GPU or HDD? My gaming computer routinely does a disc defrag (Windows 8.1). The route I am working on is a combination route consisting of American Intermodal, Cold Creek Logistics and Midwest Grain 3.0, so it is pretty large.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you installed any assets lately? If not, check the autosave interval in the in-game options (via Main Menu > Options > Surveyor Settings).

I have installed some assets lately: 52ft Gondolas from JR, they all seem to be missing an "unknown kuid". Other than those, no. I will look at the autosave, last time I checked it was at 30 min. This problem keeps happening every 2 or 3 minutes.

Can I run TS12 build 61388 OFFLINE without any validation problems? I mean, just plug my ethernet cable in when I want to download something and then unplug to run TS12?

It is possible, but I've found that you may encounter saving issues and inability to use any payware DLC content from Simulator Central whilst offline.

You can turn off your network, which is essentially like unplugging your Ethernet cable.

There are certain process's that can be turned off, such as your antivirus, which you must remember turn back on, before you re-connect to your network (internet).

You can turn all your options in performance down to almost minimum.

Even if you do not have any DLC, you may still see this validation as built-in assets, some of which are locked, are being updated and replaced. This also does occur if you install some of the JR content as it uses some of the built-in items as well.

If you have the show database process windows enabled, you can see what's going on. TADDaemon window will have all kinds of information, some of which is meaningless to us, but some is also quite useful.
