Noob needs trigger help

Yes, I'm a total noob in need of some rather explicit help. I LOVE this Trainz 2010 and can place consists using surveyor. BUT, I need to understand where to find a track trigger and place it. Where are the triggers? I've checked tracks, objects, can't find a trigger arrow to place.

Once placed, I believe I need to associate some rule of some kind to that trigger?

Here's what I want to accomplish. I'd like to take the train I control past a particular trigger spot, say on the mainline somewhere. Once past, I'd like to have another AI train begin to move somewhere else on the route.

I've done a forum search, but the only (few) similar situations had rather sparse step by step instructions to accomplish placing and having a trigger control an event.

Any help (particularly if it is detailed) is most appreciated. Until I learn to do this, I don't think I'll be able to set up sessions to have AI traffic 'interact' with the train I am driving. Thanks in advance readers!

Where the track selection bit is in surveyor you want the right hand section. you will find triggers there.
Place 1 . Using the ? name the trigger.
Under edit session go to driver commands, edit, tick the wait for trigger command.
You then give a driver the command wait for trigger XXX to be triggered by any loco or 1 specific loco whichever you prefer.

Thank you very much for your help. I was able to follow your instructions, place a track marker, assign a trigger (wait for) to it. Then I scripted one of the Engines, call it Engine 2, to wait until Engine 1 triggered the track marker. When that happened I then scripted Engine 2 to turn on its headlights, blow the whistle and then proceed to and stop at a platform. Most excited to see everything work as planned. I will now be able to continue to learn to script and create other sessions. Again, my sincere thanks!
