Non locos as locos driving me loco

Is there an easy way to change an asset's type? I have several that should be "people", "vehicles", "buildings" or "scenery" that come up as "locomotives" and are found under that train tab in Surveyor (and thus will only show up on track).

I know there a couple of Western Man (1 and 2), a White Suit Worker, a merry-go-round (all of which would not fare well sitting on train tracks!) and a Shell tanker (that would look fine on tracks only when sitting on a flat car. I think there are a few more, but these I can remember sitting here at work.

Maybe I am missing something, as I was stunned at how many hundreds of others have downloaded these. But any help y'all can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what the object is. There are vehicles, people, horses, etc.. They are designed to be placed on an invisible track and can move around just like a loco.

Makes sense, I guess...although why would people move (I DO have a couple of walking pedestrians who move), but these are just standing around guys that would look odd if they moved.

And the merry-go-round? Why would it move, other than in a circle?

And the tanker? Shouldn't it have a loco-categorized cab to pull it?

My two cents

Not sure about the go-around but the other things are probably set as such to get the actions of a locomotive from the programming. Just look at my "Trackside Cameras", two people and a simple rail road lantern, they are set as vehicles just to get the interior views! before the catigory of vehicles, anything drivable had to be classified as a traincar, even if they were not.

Have not seen a merry-go-round that attaches to the track. There is a building that travels on the rails. Why? Who knows. Maybe it amused the creator. Non animated people. Maybe the creator was not experienced enough to animate them but wanted to have moving people. Many things have been improved upon over the years. The trees that came with the original Trainz were very crude when compared to what some of our brilliant creators have made. Just like the new Speedtrees. Something new to trainz and many are complaining about them. Yes, some of them are a little funky looking but we already have creators working to improve the quality. I expect that shortly we will have trees far better than what has been available.

I will probably contact the creators of these things and ask them. And speaking of trees, I know that some are very crude, 2D (like most of the people in the "People" category that come with TRS2006), but some of the third-party stuff is downright amazing. I really love the trees that sway as if in a breeze. Can't recall the creator (still at work here), but he also made some tall grass that does the same. Now if someone only made autumn trees with leaves actually falling.

You are thinking of JVC, and Sped-ed treez. Me I prefer the "crude" cross trees as they are less poly, aren't made out of hurricane muscle, and look much better in my opinion. (Unless you are looking straight down on them.

There was a period were uploads had been given the wrong identity somewhere in the process. All you need do is change the config from loco to scenery. There wasa signal box that was a loco because you asigned a driver and could click on the driver in the drivers list and yo could use the camera set up inside and look out of the signal box.
