No shadows in TANE Alpha???

I just received my N3V Games news letter with a video showing off the first alpha test (as it said so in that news letter). Where are the shadows in that video? Am I missing something or will shadows be added later in the development cycle?

I think that would be why it is called an Alpha test (although not the same Alpha as in the shadows).

They have already stated that it will be a while before Tane gets up to TS12 standards. They have to hook in all of the existing things first before moving forward and adding the new features. I have a feeling their timeline to accomplish this is a little optimistic.

We call them.... The Shadows.

LOL!

The bigger the software project the higher the risk it won't be finished on time or budget. This one looks pretty big to me and has a long way to go.

pretty sure it also says there is no lighting yet and that will be added later. I assume shadows are part of the lighting portion of the engine.

Where do I find this video the OP referred to,is it public?cant find it on the NV3 Youtube channel.Looks like things are stepping up a gear now, with a little more insight on what has to be done and the next stages
to be implemented. The update is appreciated in what must be a hectic time-frame with unthinkable pressure, release dates nearly always slip,I can live with a little delay.

The latest newsletter I received had a video of the Mac version on it. I'd be a bit worried if T:ANE is going to look like that!

My apologies, in the news letter from Kickstarter, the video mentioned by me referred to:

Coming to the App Store Soon! Trainz Simulator 2 for iPad is the Next-generation Train Sim for mobile! TS2 offers all the original features of Trainz Simulator while pushing the boundaries of

I missed that as that Kickstarter news letter had this prominent headline:

Project Update #31: First Alpha Test Begins

Sorry for the mix up, I will now stand in the corner and repeat 100 times:

Thou shalt read EVERYTHING in a news letter before ye post here in the forum :p.

I'm expecting T:ANE to be that good, that by late afternoon, we'll be able to see "5 o'clock shadows" on the loco drivers... :hehe:

Cheers, Mac...
