No path to selected station and no junctions?

Suffering for his art.
After extending my Shoeburyness route I tested the add on expecting a smooth ride (no junctions so pretty streightforward) but train cant find a path. I've relaid the track and it's all going in the same direction and there aren't any other trains or signals yet (as I'm still laying trackwork (I read somewhere that you can't put new track beyond a signal so I'm not taking any chances).

Cheers for your help guys

(I read somewhere that you can't put new track beyond a signal so I'm not taking any chances). Andy

Hi Andy - not quite sure what that means, but I am laying a 200 mile route and I do two or three miles of trackwork at a time placing all necessary signals as I go and absolutely no problem whatsoever...

Back on the main problem - What object is the target of the driver command - trackmark? industry? Station? other? What version of Trainz?

Andy ;)

Hi Andy,

I've placed plenty of track beyond a signal when laying my track. The AI trains will stop at the signal and not proceed any farther after it. because the line is closed.

The no path problem can be caused by simply over-looked things that you don't notice when building. I have had the following things creep in, and only show up when I've tried the session.

1) Broken track at industries. The industry, or station, is placed, but I forgot to connect the track to them. The circles happened to overlap so they looked like they were connected, but they weren't. It was quite a time finding the broken track.

2) Problems with road crossings. The problem is similar to above, but was cause by adjusting the ground around the crossing. This "broke" the connections and the trains wouldn't budge past them and prompted me with the message.

3) Broken track.
Look for white circles and cracks in the track.

4)
of course a missing junction lever that you don't have a problem with because there are no junctions on your route.

5) Directoin markers.

How do I find them, I scan the more recent part of the route manually in Surveyor, and check the connections. Check your direction markers too if there are any.

The object in question is an AJS station and I'm using TRS04. Looked for broken track (tested it without AI, train runs fine the whole distance. Checked the track direction again all fine. But when I try to send the AI there I just get a big red circle with a white cross (I presume that means that it can't find the path. I really confused coz the yard and terminus station work fine I'm extending my route station by station and between the two that are causing me trouble it's only a double track section (both tracks put down seperatly to keep track direction right) with no crossovers.

Cheers all

Did you have to delete, replace or rename a station and not change the AI command to drive to this new station? If so, that is your problem.:)

Check to make certain that your station track is properly connected to your outbound/inbound track,I encountered a similar problem yesterday when trying to learn the driver setup system & got a similar error in TRS06 & when I tried driving in manual mode my consist derailed right out of the station.

When I went back into surveyor & deleted the entire circuit & tried again I was able to get it to function properly & my consist was successfully able to navigate the route via the schedule orders set for his consist.....hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips but still having the same problem, strangley my route now throws up a missing dependancy although I havn't added anything that wasn't already placed somewhere else on the map, am using Trainz objectz to check if anything is missing apart from that I'm totaly flumouxed. Any other Ideas?

Cheers for the rapid help so far, you guys are great.

I wonder if you have a faulty invisible item on the track somewhere. you can,t see it and the AI can and can,t find a way around ?

Andy, start at the end of your track put a TM name it one put one every 20 m or so naming each one a hirer # till you get back past where you are having problems. given your AI commands to drive to TM 1 if you get the no path then try tm2 and so. soon you will find the problem. Also do you have grass or such near your track ? If so click on the wire mash at the top right corner that will remove the grass and such, might fine something there.

Hi Andi,

That sort of error can occur if you join the station to existing track, you should always join the track to the station not the station to the track.
For a test, remove the red circle with the white cross from your list of commands, then enter a new command to call at the station.

Check also that you dont have two stations with the same name and platform details. If you placed a station and used the same name the red circle will show, in which case you need to rename both stations for trainz to correct the problem.

I know just what you mean, have had this occur a few times on my routes with the AJS stations. The only way I have been able to solve it was by just replacing the station with another. It only takes a minute to delete the old then add the new and re-name it.

Cheers all problem solved

Problem was I had attached the AJS station to the track (not attached the track to the station) at one end and found out that Shoeburyness was causing the same problem however I had two invisible stations here both named the same changed the names to p 1 and p 2-3 and this solved the problem.

Once again thanks for all the help.
