Hello,

I am a newbie here. I just installed the system and updated to version 61388. When I exit the program after "playing" say a tutorial, the screen stays black and I cannot recover back to Windows (7 - 64 bit).
I have to restart via a computer reset and go to SAFE MODE to be sure all is well.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks an cheers,

Ron Sagel

Try using windowed mode and see if this eliminates that symptom, then we can take it from there. On the initial window, select options > display settings > fullscreen off.

Hello,

Thank you for the support. The Window mode works fine. I tried Directx and that also has the black screen in full screen mode.

I am afraid that indicates its not a TS12 problem. Any other games have this problem?

Hello,

I have a number of simulations that I run in full screen and they all work fine. I run XPLANE 10, MS Flight Sim FSX, and Live For Speed racing in full screen modes.

In order for me to advise fully on this, I will need to know more about your system, especially what graphics card you have.

Hi Ron,

Add the following line to your trainzoptions.txt file:

-introdisable

Sometimes there's a conflict with the video that can cause a black screen.

Your trainzoptions.txt file is located in the directory where Trainz is located, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TRS2004

Also ensure that you have installed DirectX9. Shane has made a nice downloader that will put the drivers in the proper place so there is no need to download from Microsoft and then find and run setup. His utility does this all in one step and can be found on the page linked below his signature.

Trainz has an intro vid? I've never seen it...

Also, I recommend OpenGL, DX9 is sketchy on some computers, I've re-installed it 5 times this week trying to get a game to work and DX11 doesn't work at all, but this is probably for a different thread(discussing MY computer problems...

Hello,

Still have the same problem. I'll give this a rest for a while and run window mode.
BTW - TS2014 works fine in full screen mode. I just purchased both.

Thanks,
