Just got my TS2010 in the mail yesterday, and installed last night. It is great so far. I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I start playing it with my son. All the information resouces are great, I know there is a lot to learn. Everything is going smooth except one thing. Once in a while the screen resizes so that the gameplay is in a smaller area on the monitor. I have a 22" monitor, and the game becomes a 19" screen in the upper left corner. If I do task manager, then restore the game back, It goes to regular size.

I have a Pentium dual core e6600 3.06ghz, with 2gb of ram. Video is a ATI Radeon HD5450. I got the pc with running trainz 2010 in mind. I hope I have the right equipment. Can it be as simple as adding another 2gb of ram?

You could try switching between OpenGL and DirectX (or vice-versa). ATI video cards favor DirectX and NVIDIA cards favor OpenGL. You might also ensure you have the latest video drivers for your card.

2G of RAM is good, but another 2G wouldn't hurt. Unless you have a 64-bit operating system, then all your OS will "see" is about 3.5G of RAM and not the whole 4G.

Be sure that the game is set to run in the resolution of your desktop. You can "alt-tab" out of 2010 if need be. I find that to be one of the little trumpeted improvements of the software. Earlier versions allowed you to so so, but would often crash.

Also check that you have the "Fullscreen" option ticked, you will find this under "Options" > "Display Settings" (on the first screen when starting Trainz). It's also best to run at the native Display Resolution for you monitor - you can adjust the Trainz setting for this on the same screen.

And don't forget to register your copy of Trainz, amongst other things you will then get access to the download station with lots of free extra content.

FYI, another possibility/probability is that you will have to set your desktop resolution to the same resolution you desire to run TS2010. I have screen-resize issues too, and none of the repertoire of tricks seem to work but that.

Two other questions. 1. How to you delete objects from a route? I have been adding to a route, but I cant figure out how to delete anything. 2. Is it possible to run two different trains on the same route?

Every one of the fly-outs that allow content (objects, splines, tracks, motive power/rolling stock) have a button that, when pressed, allows deletion of the corresponding item on your route. If you hover over any of the buttons a tool tip should appear telling you what the button does.

You can have as many individual trains (consists) running around as you can handle. Use the mini-map to "jump" from one train to the other.

EDIT: You should also register your game at Planet Auran. Without any registration, we cannot tell what version you have.

First question is what you first need to do is find out is it a building track piece etc then in that mode there is a button with a x I believe you click on that and when your near the object you want to delete you just click and it goes away.

The second question answer is yes you can run a steam and diesel train on the same route and run the same type of engine.

Euphod, talking of being on peoples' ignore lists, I asked you to explain your answer to my post about content from creators who have left the Trainz community. I'd be interested to hear what you have to say. Or point me to the relevant threads.
