Very diplomatic of you, but I knew what you meant from the first post!
Anyone can announce a new route with a screen from that angle with a few locomotives and buildings and textures, "Look, I'm making the Transcontinental Railroad!"!
I've always been a bit critical of new route announcements anyway, either they are all bare grid, track and HOG textures, or screens that show next to nothing that allows the reader to gauge the skill involved.
The worst, of course, are the ones with no screens at all, so at least THAT mistake was avoided in this thread.
It's always nice to see an attempt at an Illinois-based route. I feel like this state is the most under-represented for what we have within the Chicago metropolitan region. I'll be down near Decatur this weekend for Railroad Days at the Monticello Railway Museum. If anyone is around, you should drop by and say hello. Unfortunately, I don't believe there's going to be a T.O.T.R. station set up, but that's a topic for another thread.
Good luck here, Jacob. Looking forward to your progress, the Central Division is a very interesting line.
I am busy cutting away all previous scenery, signals and texturing.. I figured the HOG textures are great for marking stuff (roads, tracks, locations of crossing signals, railroad signals, etc). So it makes scenery easier after my signal guy gets the signals completed (i am no where near finished with track work, so it will be a while).
