New Loaded Consist

I'm completely at a loss as to how I should go about placing a loaded consist onto a route. I place the cars and locos, but in driver they are empty! Can someone please explain how I do this in TRS2006?

Thanks so much!

You can do it by downloading a rule called Instant load from DLS it works very well and you can also click on the question mark and then on a piece of rolling stock such as a boxcar or flat car and this will bring up a window showing what the particular car will carry and you then set it to what you want the car to carry. I like the Insant load rule the best because it's very fast but it will load the cars with whatever it wants not what you may like.
I'll find the Kuid number for this rule and come back and edit this reply Ok.
Revision 1 The kuid for this rule made by robin_hoods is 2:67585:1017:1 he also has one called Instant unload and Instant load engines. There you go, now enjoy yourself.

Good luck.

Not quite right. InstantLoad will load the first load mentioned in the wagon's config, so you can control what visible loads appear by editting the configs of wagons in the train...

I like 'InstantLoad' too - very handy in sessions.

Andy :)

Are portal's not needed? I'm simply placing a 100-odd car consist on the track and I'm wanting to load that. I was under the impression that the "instant-load" rule only applied to consists being spawned from a portal??

You still need Portals in some instances.
I find instant load and unload handy if you want to run a session without configuring all the industry tracks.
For instance you might have rolling stock scattered around your route at various industries or in yards. You can create a daily freight service that goes around and picks up and drops off wagons. You can use your locos to shunt the wagons to the industry or have a shunter loco, then select 'instant load' to load the first item in the unit's config. ( I have cloned wagons set to load different loads).
When you get to the destination select 'instant unload' to drop the load.
This gives you a dynamic session that can go on for a long time without too much setting up of industry tracks.
Cheers,
Mike.

Instant load is great but I don,t think thats what he is asking. He wants to load a car with his choice of product and then run the consist in driver. Is this right R7mm?

Yes that's what I'd like to do. I do not have portals set up. I'm placing a couple SD's on the track and then attaching cars behind it. I want to "load" this train and drive it in Driver! I don't see how to do this... even so if I have the "instant-load" rule?? I just end up with an empty train that weighs nothing when I go to Driver...

Without using 'Instant Load' you need to click the '?' icon in surveyor on every car in the train, scroll through the options and load each car individually with the load of your choice. Save the session, quit to Driver

To use 'Instant Load' you must edit the session in Surveyor to include the new Driver Command, then in either Driver or Surveyor make 'Instant Load' the first driver command in the loco driver's task bar. Actually I normally make 'Wait 30 Seconds' the first command to allow the system to load all content and get settled before the first task....

Andy :)

I've been looking for "Instant Load" for the last 20 minutes, haven't found it yet. Searched username, kuid, description. Nothing.... Guess I just don't have the hang of this yet. :(

All I found under username was trams and trolleys. Kuid = nothing as well as description = nothing.

Just enter 67585:1017 and be sure to check off all versions of trainz.
I just tried it and it came right up.
