New Content $39.00 ?

I am a newbie - just started with TANE - no earlier products. I was a little surprised to see the price of new sessions/scenarios at the same price as TANE itself. Is this "normal?" Will there come a time soon where I can download sessions created by others? Thanks.

The price is specific to the addon payware routes that are in the Deluxe and Collectors editions. You can still download most content free though from the Download Station.

That's about on a par with what the Dovies charge for a DLC route pack add-on for TS2015. Judge for yourself whether the TANE experience and the particular route product offers equivalent value. :) (For me the benchmark is still the Keith Ross routes, WCML North and South and Port Road).

Being on Steam I'm content to wait for the inevitable Xmas sale later in the year and get half price or better, in the meantime I shall have a go at importing the TS2010 version of Avery to Drexel into TANE and assuming no Barbie doll effect, will be content to run that.

Thanks Shane - Will older content - labeled TS12 etc - run with TANE ? Or since TANE is so new, it will take a while for content creators to adapt their work to run under TANE? Thanks.

Some of it will if it's been updated to run at the new standards. The older N3V payware will not be available at this stage.

are these WCML routes available for buying anywhere?

I have to laugh when people complain about the cost of DLC.

And yes, I have spent some money on Trainz.

But consider this:

My favorite sim is iRacing.com.

It is totally subscription based and can only be used via their website, no internet means you no play at all. There is no offline mode at all. 100% multiplayer racing.

The fee if you count the Black Friday (half off) special is 50 bucks a year. But through participation credits it can be knocked back to almost nothing.

The basic service only includes a few cars and tracks. Everything else is DLC. 12 bucks for a car, 15 bucks for a track. There are volume discounts.

So figure:

$220 for a Logitech steering wheel with pedals and shifter.
$210 for a stand to mount that stuff.
$100 for a button box because I like to have switches and knobs.
Additional cars and tracks I probably spent at least $500.

I have spent over a thousand dollars to play a single game. And that doesn't include the cost of a decent computer.

But hey, every Monday night is league night (some of the people in my league I been racing with for almost 10 years).

If you want simple to use software and lots of people to play with, you will have to pay for it.
