New Aircraft

Airbus A320 British Airways has been updated to Startup specs and uploaded.

<kuid2:74222:12247:2> Airbus A320-232 British Airways startup

Aircrafts uploaded now should be compatible to TANE and to TS12, at least. Most of existing aircrafts are OK with TANE, some, may be, with an update of the script.

Pascal

Well Pascal you asked for it!

To do a full sweep I've set out all aircraft that don't flare and leave it to you what you want to do and when. I've listed each section in order of significance to game play and I've taken the liberty of showing a more appropriate aircraft type for Heathrow 2012 if anyone fancies doing a re-skin.

Pascal - the Virgin B744 does not show as startup but it does in fact flare.

British Airways A320
Turkish Airlines A320
Air France A321
Finnair A321
Cyprus Airways A321
Air Malta A320
El Al B737 > B747-400
Air Algerie B738
JAT Yugoslav B727 > B737-300
Japan Air Lines B763
Brussels Air Lines BAe146

Ian - the British Airways B744 and the A380's Qantas and Singapore show as startups in content manager but for some reason do not show as such in the game content. Not a problem to me - these aircraft all flare on landing.

British Airways B763
British Airways A321
Alitalia MD82 > Airbus A321
KLM retro B738

Rob -

United Airlines B763 (100155)
Air Canada B763 (green)

Other -

Lufthansa B738 by cj187 > Airbus A321
Scandinavian B737 by nzms > Airbus A321
Aer Lingus B736 by cj187 > Airbus A320
United Airlines B763 (1020) by iced8383
American Airlines B763 (1278) by nzms
Emirates A380 by nzms
Germanwings B737 by cj187 > Airbus A319
Air Canada A320 by nzms > Airbus A319

Paul

Paul,

The A380 Qantas & Singapore are startup provided you are using the version 4 of each. I did the updates myself and Ian uploaded them. The B.A. B747 also has a startup version (ver 3). I think that's actually our template. Maybe AI isn't linking up properly. That's far from my expertise.

Some aircraft have both a startup & non-startup model but are different KUID families. I've removed the non-startup versions from my content to avoid confusion.

The Boeing 767 is an older model that hasn't had the upgrade yet. You have quite a few of those in the list. I'll talk to Ian about it myself. I'll have to look at what versions are out there and try to consolidate before upgrading. Leave it with me. I'll add to my list the North American 767 re-skins done previously by others. They won't obsolete the ones you have so you'll have to replace them manually.

The Air Canada A320 & A319 skins by nzms (Maynard) shouldn't be a difficult fix. The 2012 era you are working with will be the Air Canada teal livery. You should be using the startup versions by me. I also have an A321 & A320 AC Jetz.

The European aircraft on your list are Pascal's realm. He's already working through some of them by the looks of it.

Cheers

Rob

To complement Rob's list, the Bae 146 also is not yet startup. The B727 as well.

Updates to startup may be easy, or more complicated, some models having been completely re-worked. Also, it is an occasion to make texture corrections, improve details, etc...

Pascal

Pascal - Thanks for the BA 320. If the rework you are doing for TANE can also be used on here then obviously I will wait - that's great.

Rob - the A380's (except the Emirates) and the BA 747 work perfectly OK as startups..... I only mentioned it because the asset description in game is different to that in content manager and I don't know if that is significant to you.

Hadn't realised that there are no B767's with startup specs.

More than happy to wait for whatever can be incorporated into this game - there are no financial penalties for late delivery.

hi Vulcan sorry to bother u. i got problems with super constellations all the 4 flyable (the other 3 r reskin by papou of your original mode)l. it only happens with the super constellations . The land gear is up n down without stop. if i drive manually or i set autopilot n i follow the plane doenst happen but at the moment that i don't stay with the aircraft start the problems with the land gear all over again. its a shame cause you did a beautiful airplane n the reskins by papou r also great over that plane. just one more thing i realize that this happens when for the first time (flying alone) the plane is approaching the runaway . if u can fix that that ll be super great. thank u Ian . Leo pd your model is a super constellation twa

Hello Leo,

This is a very old model, probably needs an update to startup later. :)

We had this problem with some of the early scripting, I thought I had fixed that issue for all the older aircraft.

Here is the new script that should do the job for the Constellations:

http://ianztrainz.com/publicshare/aircraft51.zip

Unzip it and replace the one in the models.

Ian

Hi Ian Thank u for your reply. I got just one question (because I'm less than a rookie about fixing scripts) , i got a iMac, so after the download ,unzip, do i have to drag from the file to the config file of the plane? or first, do i have to delete all the script of the config file and replace it with the new script? can i do it also with the papou s planes that he reskined? well thank u Ian n sorry for my lack of knowledge about scripting. Leo

Howdy all!

Long time no posting (short story: Moved house, upgraded computer, upgraded to TS12, fixed any issues, more work on route, went to post images - hullo my image shack subscription has expired!)

by the looks of things people have already found these as they were leaked onto the DLS way back in February but now I'm back good to post them anyway.

First off - TAA DC-3 VH-TAI (performed the last mainland DC-3 flight for TAA)
<KUID:591192:100031> or keyword VH-TAI

Secondly a ferned Bombardier Q300 for Air Nelson...
<KUID:591192:100065> or keyword ZK-NEP

And finally a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter as it was right back in 1969
<KUID:591192:100053> or keyword ZK-CJZ
(<KUID:591192:1186> or keyword ZK-MCO for mid-nineties colours)

And a small peek at an aircraft that was lurking at the back of the hangers. A few more touch-ups, a full service check and it should be flyable again in a couple of week on the DLS :)

Boeing 737-5H4 & 737-7H4 - Southwest Airlines - Canyon Blue

Back to my Southwest Airlines history lesson...

After 30 years of the Desert Gold livery, Southwest decided it was time for a change. In 2001 we started to see the first of the new Canyon Blue Livery that would become familiar for the next 15 years. The 'Next Gen' 737-700 series were the first to get a makeover. Most of them already had their retrofitted or factory delivered blended wing tips by then. The older 300 series were progressively re-painted around the same time. The 700 series were also fitted with domes for satellite TV and other on-board services around the same time.

It wouldn't be until 2004 before the shorter 500 series started to appear with the blue paint.

Both now available on DLS.

Note that the 737 models have been heavily updated recently and there are many re-skins in play with the older model. There is a Southwest 737-700 by CJ187 already available on DLS. You'll notice a few differences in the screen shot below. Flashers, wingtips and the dome are the most obvious but the old model wasn't a startup version either. You will have to delete and replace the CJ187 model with mine in your routes if you want to use the new models as I cannot 'obsolete' another user's model. The re-skin is all new and I haven't used any of CJ187s original work. Christopher (CJ187) used to produce some excellent re-skins but has sadly moved on to other things.

Leo,

Unzip the file somewhere on your computer.
In your Content Manager find the Constellation model, highlight it and open it for Edit in Explorer (Ctrl Shft E).
In the Explorer window that opens you will see a number of files, including the aircraft51.gs
Replace this file with the one you have extracted from the zip file.
Do not edit or delete your config file.
Commit the model in Content Manager (Ctrl M).

Yes you can use this script for the other reskins.

Ian

Hello,

A Constellation startup? why not. But it's a certain amount of work!!

One reskin example under way:

Hi guys, a few comments.

Pagroove, I had given general permission for you to reskin aircraft, it lets me do new ones instead of spending a lot of time reskinning, and gives Rob and Papou something to do as well. Send me a model and I will look it over, and perhaps provide a few helpful comments.

Hi Ian. I will probably have to look at the 737 and move the skin over to a startup model.

When ready I can send you the models. Question how do I do that. Do you want a .cdp of the aircraft via mail? I work on these aircraft when I have the time. I did them because I wanted some more Japanese aircraft. And indeed like others said there where already quite some on the DLS.

Thank you for making these aircraft. They are great fun.

Thank u Ian. already i did it n everything was perfect. you know i was wondering why nobody did an iconic aircraft like the B-52 H ,still is working n this year is the 60th anniversary of that beautiful strategic bomber, if one day u r bored u could try to make that great plane. well thank you Ian for everything Leo

Hello Rob i just wanted to say that u did n excellent reskin of that southwest. let me tell u that i got an airport really close n everyday when I'm driving my car i can see Southwest ,also Frontier ,Jet Blue, Spirit, United ,American ,Us Airways n guess i forgot several planes that r taxiing above my head cause the new runaway was made on top the highway…its a beautiful sight..well, well done with the Southwest Rob, and thank u for everything. Leo

Thanks for the nice words Leo but I'm not done with the Southwest series yet.:)

After a false start a few weeks ago, I've managed to get the Horizon Dash 8-q402 pair uploaded and approved.

The Horizon Dash 8-q402 was one of the first re-skins I ever did. I've updated them to the latest Vulcan Air avionics in the same way I did with the Continental/United Dash 8s before Xmas.
