New Aircraft

Good to see our aircrafts alive!

You should be able to add this one soon:

Airbus A319 run by Bulgaria Air. Type 112 with 2 emergency doors each side over the wings.

Heathrow T5A building - part of the terminal 5 complex. BA have outgrown T5 and still use parts of T1 and T3 but share T5 with fellow IAG airline Iberia (A321 in the new colour scheme parked up on stand)

Might be having to make some room for Aer Lingus as a new IAG company shortly.

Yes Pascal, aircraft in their proper colours make a big difference to keeping the project going !

Paul, Pascal, Rob, Ian (and others):

I don't have any screenshots to show my support as I am still wrestling with TANE, but I wanted to verbally say "Thank You" and the screenshots and work you've provided are excellent!

Cheers!

Andrew

This is the best I can do for an aerial shot. Tried all ways - altitude is only 500m yet draw distance supposed to be 5,000m. Missing baseboards and buildings. Hoping that TANE lives up to expectations with this sort of thing.

Heathrow Central area around T3

Thanks for the post SharkNose. If it wasn't for the work of Ian and the re-skinners I for one wouldn't have had sufficient interest to continue my modelling.

Latest entry into service - An Airbus 320 for Vueling - another IAG company. Thanks Pascal !

Sorry - forgot to F5 it !

That's all for a couple of days now.

paul-r: Great work on the Heathrow layout. Looks like the real thing to me :). And many thanks to all you aircraft makers and reskinners.

A question at paul-r. Which runways do you use? I will soon start to build an International Airport for my Electro Island 3.0. Route and would like to have runways where you can set the runway number yourself to the wind direction. I can see from the last screenshot that you have correctly set Runway 27 L on Heathrow.

Many thanks in advance :).

Boeing 737-5H4 & 737-3H4 - Southwest Airlines - Desert Gold

Keep it up Paul. Always good to see our aircraft in action...

Now for another one of my history lessons.....

Southwest Airlines operated only the 200 series 737 for 20 years (along with 727s for a while). In 1991 Southwest started buying Boeing's replacement, the 500 series. The Southwest aircraft were designated 737-5H4. The 500 is slightly longer than the old 200s but the main visual difference is the engines. The old 200 engines are somewhat integral to the wing and predominantly underneath it. The 500 has much larger, more powerful engines that are pod mounted mainly forward of the leading edge of the wings. Southwest continue to operate these aircraft today.

Also on the Southwest shopping list in 1991 was the much longer 300 series 737. Designated 737-3H4, they look pretty similar to the 500 but if you count the windows it becomes obvious. The 500 is the nearer one in the screenshot below.

Both are now available on DLS.

Boeing 737-7H4 Southwest Airlines - Desert Gold

In 1998 Southwest Airlines took delivery of their first 'Next Gen' from Boeing. The 700 series 737 is a workhorse for many airlines around the word right up to present day. They look the same as the 300, give or take a window or two. I'm pretty sure the engine & avionics received a major shake up for the Next Gen variants. In 2003 Southwest started to retrofit winglets to their B737-7H4 aircraft. It was a bit of a crossover period for Southwest with the arrival of Next Gen aircraft, the advent of winglets and a change of livery from the 'Desert Gold' to the 'Canyon Blue' paint scheme. More on the blue paint later....

You'll notice the Southwest 7H4s have red wing flap struts.

Hopefully available soon on DLS.

Hey guys, just some quick news for anyone who doesn't remember me, I have been working on some big projects over the last 2 years, of which the first is to be released by end of summer. I have been at route building for awhile, and with the work I have put into them they will be at a slight cost, but I am working on making them completely multiplayer which may be a future update to the product. I will post pictures and update shots when I get back to my computer with the installed games on it. First to be released is Chicago Midway International Airport, then Rotterdam International Airport, then on to a heavily updated version of Heathrow. Finally on the list is one of either 2 projects Vancouver, Pittsburgh, or Zurich International.
Hope to see you all at the end of the summer as my goal release date is scheduled for Saturday August 8th

Welcome back, Stmsoccer, looking forward for your airports routes.

Last of Paul's list, two aircraft reskins:

Boeing 737-700 operated by Tarom. The A318 is not part of Ian's cavalry, but the 737 is also run by Tarom, and should find a parking place at Heathrow.

Icelandair operates only Boeing 757, which is also not available. I made an Airbus A321 instead. The A321 is similar to the 757-200, so it will replace it without trouble.

Both are uploaded but stucked in th approval area of the DLS, so please wait.

Many many thanks Pascal for the last 3 operators for Heathrow. Project completed!

Between yourself, Ian, Rob and others you have created realism into my model and reawakened my interest and I will continue to post screenshots from time to time.

pagroove - the runways are made with ground textures and airport lining and lighting splines etc. The runway number is the "name" object which can be edited. Hope this helps

Ok thanks for the explanation on the "name" object. Keep up the good work.

Does anyone knows if there are some Air Nippon planes scheduled for painting? They could be nice on a Japanese airfield. They also have some very weird Pokemon 747's too. Maybe I try myself a repaint.

pagroove,

There are a few Japanese re-skins already available. JAL and ANA are both represented.

Please have a go at a re-skin yourself if you feel adventurous.
I've written a re-skin tutorial specific to Vulcan's aircraft. Click on my banner below. I would hope it helps to get you started. If nothing else it will give you an idea about naming conventions and ensuring Vulcan is credited properly. The more re-skinners the better. :-)

Thanks Rob. I will search for them. And when I have the time I will try a reskin and follow your tutorial. Thanks for the information.:)

Have now downloaded Pascal's last 3 aircraft...Tarom is among the overnighters in the terminal 4 throat.

Icelandair and Bulgaria Air will not be visiting for a few hours yet. Thanks again

First arrival of Icelandair A.757 or B.321 ??? Looks good anyhow.

Now that Pascal has completed the list, I am running a full day's test to check no further signalling or logistical problems before making the route available for anyone that wants it. If you do, let me know and I will have to look into how to go about it. Presumably there is a vetting procedure.

The second shot gives a summary of what the route is about

Paul

Of course, Paul, I'm interested in your route.
But take your time, there is nothing urgent.

I will now go back to some oldies such as Connies or Catalinas..
