Need some mining help

Howdy fellers. I'm in the middle of building a huge strip mine for coal and whatnot. Just wondering if anyone would know how or where I could find some off road dump trucks that actually move on the haul road. What I need is, just like the roads with all the cars traveling on them, but with dump trucks.

So another question arises. I found this site http://ac-monkeywrench-models.yolasite.com/industry.php

Anyone ever buy anything from him? I tried to email him to find out more info, but that went south. For some reason his contact me thingey isn't working.

Sure would appriciate any help with my strip mining operation.

Payware assets will show up as missing assets if you share your future route with others. I believe that MWM stuff has great quality payware.

I saw some big monsterous mining trucks somewhere (memory fading me):hehe:

Doug have a look thru the DLS using "Dinorius_Redundicus" as the username, Dino has a ton of Dump Truck's and other mining stuf you can use and it's all top shelf stuff and free too. Hope this help's.
Cheers Mick.:D

Thanks for the little promo Mick and Cascade.:p Yeah I did do some mining-related vehicles a while ago. My author ID 68213: and, being vehicles, I would have given them all series numbers in the 29000's.

I haven't revisited any of those models in a long time, so I'm just not 100% sure they work as road traffic in TS2009+ due to config tag changes made by N3V and also orientation of the models for scenery use. Maybe one of our readers could advise?

Whatever vehicles you use though, if they are set up as auto-spawning traffic, they will appear on all your roads, not just the haul roads within your mine.

Here's the Cat 797 in 3 forms..

Thats exactly the ones I downloaded. But for the life of me, I can't get them to run at all, no matter what I do. I even downloaded AJs invisable roads that they're supposed to run on, but nothing. Any suggesions? Anyone?

That truck is build 2.0 and can no longer be used on roads.
If you want the truck to appear as road traffic you have to make it a track object by editing its config.txt file to add this tag:
trackside 0.01
Since this truck is 10 meters wide you can't use it on 2 lane roads with other traffic.
If you want to make it drivable on invisible track, the easiest method is to download cyberstorm's Drivable Superadaptor,<kuid2:78193:950:1>. The instructions on how to use it are in the included readme.txt file. Post here if you have specific problems doing this.

Just out of curiosity, I tried that trick. Unfortunately, in this case the config calls on a script, the AJS Traffic Library, which worked fine in TRS2004. However if you now add the 'trackside' tag, the script doesn't recognise it, so it doesn't work.

You might be better off just using these vehicles as static scenery, for which they were probably best suited anyway.

When I added the trackside tag I also deleted the script and class callout and the extension container. After commitment I added it to my region kuid and tested it in Surveyor with a road. The trucks appear but are so wide that they can't pass each other and when two meet they pass thru each other.

Well all, thanks for the help. My bad, I forgot to mention, I'm using 2010EE, so I don't reckon the trucks from 04 will work anyway. I'll have to check some payware sites. Maybe I can find some trucks there that will run somehow.

If anyone knows where else I could find some anywhere, it would be greatly appriciated.
