Need Help With Movie Making

Michael_Evans

thread killer
I downloaded fraps and have been taking a ton of trainz vids and I'd like to make a movie but don't know how. Can anybody point me in the direction of how to combine video clips and add music. Any help would be great!
Michael

You could use Windows Movie Maker

Start>Accessories>Windows Movie Maker

Read the help file of Movie Maker, 'tis easy to use once you know how. :)

Hello

If you use Windows XP, I think it comes with Windows Movie Maker. It is good for combining clips and adding audio (or music, whichever you prefer).

Windows Movie maker is okay. I suggest VirtualDub for professional looking post processing. For best effect, dont try to shoot the entire movie in one take. Pause and shoot various camera angles then splice them together.

Movie Maker is the way to go. Use it myself and it's real easy.
But how about Frapps???
I downloaded the demo, but nothing works????

Casy, THAT WAS WAY COOL!!
Loved the music, you have a flair for movie making!
didn't know you could put a camera inside the cars as well.
You just gave me a whole bunch of ideas, THANK YOU

In the meantime I downloaded fraps demo again, and now it works, except without sound, hmmmm. But I will definitely go that route.

Thank you. The "Semi" is actually a locomotive running on an invisible track in the roadbed. The layout is Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific (RS&P). Music was edited and dubbed in.

I'm going to try VirtualDub. Thank you for the suggestion. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do this all over again, though...

I made a couple of videos using Fraps and Windows Movie Maker since I could get both for free. Although the videos look great in WMM, when I save them as movie files (instead of viewing them as projects in WMM) and then view the videos on Media Player 10 (or do I have 11?), they are dark and reddish, as if I had built my railroad on Mars or something. I can't find any solutions for said problem on the internet anywhere. No one seems to know why this happens and how to fix it.

I think VirtualDubMod is better than virtualdub It does more but has less weird commands.

Windows Movie player is a bit "micky mouse, but there's not much other freeware available. Have a look at trackaxpc it's pretty nifty and sounds very powerful, but I have no idea how hard it is to use.

The VirtualDubMod website sure doesn't say much about it. In fact, the FAQ page doesn't exist. At least the download appears to have worked.

I visited TrackAx and couldn't decide what was where or what I was looking for there. They seemed to have everything else in the world BUT video software. I guess I'll have to search again. Which of their products am I looking for?

I guess that the fokes from VirtualDubMod don't want to rewrite the manual. It's similar to VirtualDub, but just tweaked. Do a google search on any subject you want: edit videos virtualdubmod. If that doesn't work, try using virtualdub alone.

I use VirtualDub Mod to convert DVD's to AVI's and to fix sound issues with sound sync. There are thousands of tutorials out there, but you often have to figure out the changes in the menu system yourself.

Trakaxpc does both music and videos. I found a number of good tutorials on YouTube, and they say there are more tutorials available from the forum.

Here's a starter. Also look to the right of the YouTube window, there are many more tutorials listed.

As I said, I've nver used TrakaxPC, so I can't tell you much about it.
