Need Help. How to make a cloned train not be a clone.

I cloned a train yesterday, and want it not to be a clone. How would i do this? I had to clone it to reskin it for the proper colors. And also, how do I add the wheels and stuff to it when I save it to a CDP File?

You can't unclone a clone. Why would you want to anyway? The wheels and stuff are usually separate dependencies as far as I know. They would be in their own .cdp's, although there may be a way to put them in one, I wouldn't know for sure.

Yes - a clone uses the same dependencies as the original since it's effectively a duplicate of the original asset but with a different KUID (with your UserID at the start).

So I could save it with everything, and keep the files for when trainz 2014 comes out, and then install the reskined version I reskined. And what about the tender? And I cloned the wheels for the proper color as well, and changed the wheels to be used with the clone.

I know that, but I want a CDP File to have just incase i want to upload the reskined train at some point with the permission of the person who made it. [EDIT] I figured out how to make the files all packged together

A clone is not the same as an alias. To clarify what Shane said, the clone does not reference the original asset, although it references the same dependencies. In other words, if you were to download a locomotive off of the DLS (which downloads all of the requisite dependencies), installing the CDP of your cloned asset (which would NOT be a clone then) and right clicking "download" on it, would download the required dependencies as well. If you cloned the dependencies and referenced your new dependencies, of course you would need the new dependencies.

If it REALLY bothers you that they show as clones in CMP, take your CDP and reinstall and overwrite your existing version and it will no longer show as a clone. I frequently clone my assets when I make new versions, whether I just make a new skin or if I add an entirely different mesh- you download it, and it shows as "not a clone", but it is still a clone on my system. Probably 85% of my stuff I created shows as being a clone because it comes from the same starting point.

All you have to do is Save as a CDP in CM. Also save all the dependencies as a CDP as well. Package the lot in a folder and save them wherever you want.
Cheers,
Mike

I already figured it out, and I cloned the train to reskin it for my purposes till SI3D Films Emily comes out. So what I mean, is that the MSTNoodle model that is already available by MSTNoodle himself, the Emily model that is already on the CMP only for download, I cloned and reskined to the proper colors to mach the soon to come out Emily from SI3D films.
