Need a little help with getting a Garratt Locomotive to work on TS12.

So, I download one Garratt, decided to try a different one, and now I can't get the mid section to render, apparently because <kuid:44090:57103> doesn't exist anymore. I tried looking for it online, tried the wayback machine, and every other trick in the book that I know of, but sadly that file just doesn't seem to exist anymore, and apparently none of the Garratt Locomotives will work without it, as it would seem that the boiler units on all but one of these, (the one I tried but ultimately didn't wind up liking), use the item that requires that <kuid:44090:57103> file. So, any advice on what I should do? I really want to try out the SAR 400 Garratt, but it won't work without this file, and when I looked at some others, the all seemed to indicate that that too used the item that required <kuid:44090:57103>. So, what should I do? Anybody got one of those <kuid:44090:57103> available on their own computer that they wouldn't mind sending me a copy of? Or, could somebody maybe try making a new SAR 400 Garratt that doesn't use said <kuid:44090:57103>? Wouldn't be too much work I suppose to basically copy everything but just change the crew, since it's obviously the crew mesh that's causing all the issues... Sigh, maybe later... Rockatoa, Brickticks out!

OK, I am using SAR (South AUSTRALIAN Railways) 406 narrow gauge garratts without any problems. There is another SAR Garratt - South AFRICAN Railways garrett that I have never used and know nothing about.

There are several SAR 400 series garratts on the DLS - in both narrow gauge and standard gauge (which I believe never actually existed in reality).

For TS12 you will need one with a build number upto 3.6 or 3.7 if you have TS12 SP1. The following can be found on the DLS that meet those requirements.

By Billegulla
{suffix n = narrow gauge 3'6", s = standard gauge 4'8.5", 09 = built for TR09)

According to my CM, <kuid2:44090:57103:41> is Texture group for steam loco crew figures by paulhobbs and is a TextureNonEn.

Those would look to be all the one's I tried, they all sorta worked, the rear and front sectioned worked, but when I tried to pull the central component, the boiler, into the railyard, it didn't render, and then I found but it was missing the textures for the crew, kuid:44090:57103, which was the only thing I could think of that would make it non render... So, what should I do now?

An updated version of <kuid:44090:57103> is available at the DLS as <kuid2:44090:57103:41> for TRS09.

OK, but would it work with the file downloaded by the Garratt locomotive? Do I need that specific kuid, or will this one allow it to function? if so, then YAY, the new engine will work, if not, then I do believe that the boiler component n the Garratt will remain broken. Sad face. Rockatoa, Brickticks out!

You shouldn't have to and the update should work fine if the rest of the KUID is the same.

The number after the last : is the version number.

KUID2: assets update the old KUID format so <kuid:44090:57103> is available at the DLS as <kuid2:44090:57103:41> and this :41 will tell TS12 to use this version and ignore the old on.

If this same KUID is used in all the Garrett locomotives, then this asset will update them all at once.

Hope this helps.

OK, so basically just go ahead and download my Garratt of choice, then, when it's done, just download the new <kuid2:44090:57103:41>, and it should work? Hmm, guess I'll try it, what could possibly go wrong?

Well, I tired the <kuid2:44090:57103:41> and the boiler section is still invisible. I would think that I would at least be able to see the buttons for the whistle and headlights, but they're not there either. What's going on? I tried downloading <kuid2:44090:57103:41>, but it didn't fix anything. What am I doing wrong? Did I download the wrong one? Nah, couldn't be, all the one's I've tried have had their boiler section invisible. So, again I ask, what's going on? Hmm, maybe I should try a different one, but, again, I'll probably just get the same result. Rockatoa, a very sad Brickticks out!
