Naming Dilemma

GN1996

Not a real user title.
I am currently creating a route that I would eventually like to post on the DLS, but I am having trouble thinking of an appropriate name for it. Some of the route features are a mountain range, a city located near an ocean, and some rolling hills. The main route commodities are goods, grain, and coal. I don't know if any of this information will help give life to a name or not.

Well after giving this some thought, I figure that you'll want to stay with a pretty much generic name. Now looking at the details that you provided, I would like to suggest the name EASTBAY RAILWAYS or EASTBAY RAILROAD. This way the name doesn't lock you into a specific place or region.

Basing this off of what you just said amrail, I think I might call it the Baywest Route or the Westbay Route. (I chose west because my ocean is on the west side of the map.)
Thanks for the help!

The name of your route should also be slightly affected by your region.

If your in a US based region, go for a US based name, the same for the UK, etc.

Otherwise, go with what amrail2000 said. Some railline names are actually based on certain locations. For example, you could have a city in your route called "New York", as such, you could call your railroad "New York Eastern Line"
