N&W Westbound Merchandise Train

This session has really got me puzzled. The offending switch seems to be Bluefield Yard West 0005. It is thrown the wrong way and locked, thus preventing passage thru the Bluefield Yard.

The first time I played it I was actually able to manipulate an unlocked switch 0005 and get all the way to the end of the session. However, it wouldn't give me the achievement stating a rule violation, but my HUD said I had zero rule violations.

I went to play the session again and take step by step notes to help other posters with the same problem. However, this time thru the offending switch was definitely thrown the wrong way and locked.

I went to edit the session, and assuming switch left/right orientation is in the direction of travel, Bluefield Yard West 0005 (and 0006 for reference) are indeed setup to throw correctly and lock, switch 0005 to the right and 0006 to the left.

But when observing them in the game, switch 0005 throws to the left and locks. Since this is against my intended route of travel thru the yard, the light never turns green.

How is this even possible? The switch is thrown completely opposite of the rules stated in the session.

And why did it work the first time thru but not on subsequent tries?

I've installed all the updates, and now can make it from Radford yard all the way through Bluefield (you have to get everything right, including dropping off the correct boxcars at Junction 31 in Bluefield.) to the Pocahontas crossover. There I trigger Ami to start her AI run. She is supposed to trigger an all clear after passing through the crossover, however, after she gets through that I am left sitting at a stop signal for what seems like forever. I sat at that signal for five hours the other night before shutting down and going to bed. Can anyone at N3V offer a solution to this bug infested session? P L E A S E?

I had the same problems. It took several saves and do-overs but I was finally able to complete the session. I guess something finally just kicked in.

Well, I've finally managed to complete the game, but now it tells me I had some violations (none recorded) so don't get the credit. I guess I'll take a couple of hours and sit through the whole scenario and try to do it without breaking wind....

I have the same problem. Can't get a green signal at the Pocahontas crossover. I can drive through the red signal and complete the session but get a rules violation. Also, I experienced the same problem back in January.

You can add me to the Pocahontas crossover bug list. Ran it today, First time I've managed to manage the loco and not run out of water (either letting it boil away OR forgetting it was on an running the tender dry DOH!) got to Pocahontas and she wouldn't let me pass... >:(

Thats is strange. I have ran that scenario many times and never had a single problem, im running Build 49922. Perhaps the update to SP1 has messed with some of the scripts and has left them broken or could have possible messed up the code inside the script.

Possibly. My TS12, the session didn't run right until I patched it to SP1. It kept leaving me sitting at a red in the Bluefield Yard

I don't know if anyone else struggled with this, but the tender is NOT car #1 - the first boxcar is car 1. I mention this because of the "drop off cars 3 thru 8" order. Also, I don't know if it matters, but I put my "pick up" cars after boxcar #2 as well. So, as I left Bluefield it was LOCO-TENDER-ORIGINALBOX1-ORIGINALBOX2-PICKEDUPBOX1-etc.

It's a long drive to go try different ways to see if they work or not.

Nope, the SP1 update and Hot Fixes actually sorted out most of the problems with this incredibly buggy and time-consuming session.
It took me many retries (with similar results to those mentioned above)to finally complete this scenario.
But dogged determination prevails - I found I had to complete the entire session without using pause and committing zero driver errors to succeed.
(That's a heck of a time commitment!)
Locked points and AI driver Ami going through red signals are frequent encounters.

I had 2 violations, both from the same goof of running 55mph into a 30mph zone. If you are speeding and take too long to slow down you get re-penalized.
