Hi.
Viewing distance.
This make Trainz so great to use now. I did a quick test about the viewing distance by laying a row of spline trees on the edge of a baseboard at 1.5 km setting like in TRS 2006. I get back until the trees dispeared and checked the map. I was about 1.5 baseboard away. Next I increased the viewing distance to 5 km and get back. Looking at the map, I was 5 full baseboards away and the trees were still visible very far in the distance and really hard to see because of the fog. Very impressive.
But also find that a 3 km setting is pretty nice and you would not need to go to 5 km setting what kill the frame rate. Apart the mountain's shapes visible at more than 5 km, any object don't need to be seen as far. So 3 km is good compromise and I love this setting.
What I really like about this point is the fact you can adjust the viewing distance on the fly while driving your trains ! Just open the menu, set the slider and voilà !!! In fact, most options are adjustable on the fly. Great job Auran.
A thumb up !!!
