My Problem in TS12

I have determined it isn't sound related. See this thread, then read on:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=75261

I have tried everything to eliminate this issue... I've tried Direct X -- tried OpenGL (my Trainz works significantly better with OpenGL)--- ran my route with the 3-D sound on and with it off... Changed every setting I can think of --- Ran with display settings high and with them low --- Set Virtual Memory to the highest recommended by my system --- Tried it with "Disable Hardware TL" ticked and without. . . I'm exhausted trying to fix this problem........ If ANYONE has any suggestions, I am open to trying anything.

My computer specs:

Falcon Northwest Computer TALON Mach 4
Windows XP Professional - Version 2002 - SP 3
Intel Core i7 CPU
920 @ 2.67 GHz
2.67 GHz, 2.99 GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
ATI Integrated High Definition Audio - ATI AA01

Thanks guys,

Dave Snow

Have you tried uninstalling and cleaning out the sound driver and then reinstalling? I assume you've tried Aristide's advice?

Yes, I don't think it's sound related.

It not only skips the sound, but if you look closely, the picture skips too.

I noticed on your other thread that you only have 4GB free on the primary hard disk (out of 110GB)

Is this still the case? If it is, it needs a cleanup, especially if it's the system disk.

Windows requires at least 10-15% free space to run well (15% for defragging)

er. . . . I think you were looking at "dricketts" reply showing HIS specs. I have 249 Gig of free space (out of 465 total) on my Primary.

Thanks

EDIT: I may have hit upon something else............ I deleted a couple of locomotives I have been using and I haven't had this skipping "sound & picture" problem for three hours now. I hope that was the cause. I can always find another loco or two! LOL!

Glad to "hear" it! Perhaps you could name the asset locos so we could see if they were causing the problem.

Apologies - that's the one reason why things get messy when there are multiple people posting about similar issues.

Dave, if you don't want to post the content, could you mail me so I could try to confirm your theory?
