My Freeware being listed as Payware

Crabby Old Geezer
I found one of my old freeware hornsounds being used as Payware. Here is a screenshot:

Can someone at N3V look into this.

Thanks

Better to put in a Support request. N3V do not read every post in every forum thread.

The "Packaged" part I can understand. A creator has used your DLS version in a DLC package - that is now standard practice for all DLC packages to include all DLS assets used by the package as part of the DLC download. That means that purchasers don't waste time separately downloading all the DLS items, especially if they do not have an FCT.

The "Payware" part is a puzzle to me - hopefully it is just a "glitch".

Interesting Dave, when I click on Dependants, I get the following:
<kuid:101046:100129> Ozark Valley SD40-2 #502 <- This one says it is Packaged, Obsolete, Payware. The one below it is the new version, all are DLS.
<kuid2:101046:100129:1> Ozark Valley SD40-2 #502
<kuid:101046:100131> Ozark Valley SD40-2 #504
<kuid:101046:100134> Ozark Valley SD40-2 #506

Yes sir, I noticed that also. Old Old Locomotives I used in that Ozark Valley Route. I think they were predingo's (or however you spell it).

My CM reports that <kuid:101046:100042> Hornsound 10-10 is on the DLS and is Available for Download so my original explanation for the "Packaged" is probably correct.

You have probably installed a DLC loco, or a Session with a loco, that uses the hornsound 10-10 so it was included in the DLC package.

<kuid:101046:100042> is included in sc386 ("Canadian Rocky Mountains - Columbia River Basin") and sc425 ("Canadian Rocky Mountains - Rogers Pass").

I don't have either of those two packages. If I did then <kuid:101046:100042> Hornsound 10-10 would be shown in my CM as Packaged.

This, of course, does not explain the status label "Payware" that you are seeing.

It is my understanding that the "Payware" status reflects that an asset's config.txt contains the Payware tag and is set to 1 which is true since it is a binary tag. This activates DRM on the asset to prevent users from making changes and submitting it in CM. As Peter suggested a ticket to the Helpdesk should produce an answer.

Ahh, I ain't that worried about it.
