My First Route

First attempt at making a semi prototypical route. It's based off of a layout in Model Rail Road Planning 2009, the Empire Valley & Western, Memphis Terminal. I'm following the track plan closely but I'm not building this route like a model rail road. The buildings and scenery probably are not prototypical of the local but I don't really care, as long as it fits the route I'm ok with it. Anyway here are several pictures from one end to the other of what I have done so far. I'm open to suggestions etc.

Looking pretty good. My suggestion to you, use a few more textures. Blend about 5 similar textures together and it will make it look alot more realistic. You are off to a great start.

I like what you've done so far, and it's great that you are working off a track plan, but do you think you could stack your screens on top of each other so that users don't have to scroll horizontally to see them?:)

Euphod, that's pretty weird because they are stacked when I look at them.

Jadebullet, Thanks for the suggestion. Like I said this is my first route so I'm totally lost when it comes to what to do in what order. I've been laying a bunch of track, then doing ground textures in certain areas as I go followed by trees and structures etc. It's hard to tell but in the heavily sceniced areas I did used several different textures. I enjoy laying track and detail stuff so I'm imagining this route will not have the most interesting city scapes and forestry. Probably the most immeadiate area around the track will look the best lol.
