Multiple of same track

Hi;
I have found that in TS2006, and now in TS2009, there are multiple entries for the same track.
For example; Grey conc stain std 2m, 4m, 8m, 16m.
They are all the same track, so why the different lengths?
I should be able to disable some of them, to keep my content list manageable, right?

Those are actually different in that the numbers you reference indicate the length of the spline in meters before it repeats as you stretch it out in surveyor. The shorter the distance indicated, the more repeats of the model you will get over an equal distance, and therefore the higher the poly count for the track will get, affecting computer performance. The intent is that you use the short 2m lengths on tight curves in yards and such, and the long 16m sections on straight or tangent track. Paying attention to this will help improve frame rates on your routes.

Thanks for that gfisher,
I was wondering about the different lengths myself,now you have given me another great tip to help me.
Thanks Again.
Cheers Mick.

Another mystery solved. Thanks, gfisher. That'll make a big difference to the FRs on a very long route I'm building. Cheers mate.

Thanks for the solution. In my never-ending quest to simplify my content lists, I am disabling content I don't think I will use much. I haven't been using any of those track splines on my route; at least not yet.

I would also like to "weed out" the trees and other flora, since there are so many of them that look the same<g>

Thanks again.
