Multiple industry track... on a grade? Feasible!

Hello everyone,

Back with TS12 and the excellent Mojave Sub. One thing is missing in it and it's industries! I would like to add Multiple Industry New to some of the spurs but most are in a grade. Is there a way to do this or am I stuck using my imagination to move loads around? I tried moving one end of the track but without success.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

P.S.: I did a search and came up with a lot of stuff on MIN but not what I was looking for.

By "move loads around" I take it to mean you would like to move wagons to/from the industry load point by gravity, rather than by engine? With the fixed track of the industry on the level, you are concerned that, while a wagon can be gravitated to the industry load point, it cannot then be gravitated away to the other side?

Without an engine, how were you planning to get the gravitated vehicle to stop at the industry load point? Perhaps I have mistaken your intentions.

The short answer is you might be able to induce a gradient on the fixed track of an industry asset if it is suitably aligned. Open the asset for editing, then open the config file and add the following tags:
Code:
rollstep 0.1
rotate-yz-range -2,2
When mounted on tracks with gradients up to +/-3.5% (2 degrees angle to the horizontal) the fixed track can be rolled to match the gradient.
To roll this asset choose the 'rotate' button of the objects toolbar then press CTRL SHIFT while using RH mouse click on the asset to alter the roll level.
If the track is not aligned with the y axis, then the rotation will not be in the correct plane. Worth a try.

Some clarification

Thanks, I'll try it out.

Just to clarify, I do not intend to "roll" cars without an engine. What I meant was that when you place the MIN track, it is levelled at 0,0 by default and will not adjust to any slope you might have on the terrain, thus making the industry track look out of place with the rest of the track on a, let's say, 2% grade, and especially when placed side by side with parallel main tracks.

Hopefully, this clarify my original post.

Thanks again,
Chris

Hi,

Million years ago, :hehe: I have created "rollable" M.I.N tracks, they are on the DLS.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial]<kuid2:102376:63049:2> (20 meters version)[/FONT]
<kuid2:[FONT=Verdana, Arial]102376:63050:2> (60 meters version)

Note, "roll" feature only work from TRS2006 and up...;)

Thanks beka, I have downloaded them but didn't have time to try them yet (busy buying new locos! ). I'll give this a try tonight and let you know how it turns out.
