Multiple database management

I was having so many problems with the current database I decided to make a new, clean one.

This went well. It just came up to the point where I can look at the BCSJ route. Except I have a missing dependency, that I think is related to my BCSJ reskinned box cars.

I thought (dangerous word that one is) that I'd uploaded the kuids for the BCSJ boxcar reskin, but I'll be hanged if I can find it.

When I created the new database the directions said that plugging the a new directory name into the Launcher/Settings/Install/Local data folder box would cause it to automatically copy all the built-ins into the new directory.

Does this apply if the "new" (in this case actually the previous) directory already exists?

Inquiring minds need to know (before doing something foolish. again)...

TRS19, and T:ANE too, will create a new directory structure automatically by default in the C:\Users\<your name>\App Data\Local\N3V-Games\TRS19.

The default directory is called something like 84BCZ4x5, and contains your content. If you create a new database, the new fold it's in will start with another sequence so nothing is lost.

Hope that makes sense...

Now you can always change the Install path by clicking on the ... and choosing the previous database location. (Remember to write down your new directory name so you can find it easily in case you get interrupted.)

Once the program restarts, cuz it has to, you can then open content manager and retrieve your missing asset by exporting it to a CDP. Once you have your asset, close Content Manager, and change the location again in the Launcher. The process is easier than it is to explain it in writing.
