Moving into Trainz 12.

I have seen a few people having issues with moving old content into TRS12. I have about 800+ items that are faulty, some as simple as the Build number is out of date, an easy fix. But I have run into a few items that I cant seem to fix. I have read a few posts on how to fix some items, but to no avail. Then there are the items that say they are fine while you are editing them in Content Creator, but as soon as I commit the changes, more errors show up that don’t even come up in the Content Creator :n: I have tried many things, and short of completely deleting the faulty items, I have had no luck.
If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers,
Anthony.

hey anthony, all i can say is im exactly where you are at. ive had alot of problems with assets too. like i have a locomotive that needs a certain KUID. but i have that KUID. its like it wont recognize it or something.

also, i find that many things are outdated, but when it tries to install content updates, the server wont connect.

auran should go through the dls and delete content that is faulty.

like, if the dls has 10,000 assets on it, a good 5,000 are extremely faulty or even just dont download.
good luck man, and if i find a solution, i will let you know

For starters;

http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?302069-My-choo-choo-is-broke!

Post KUID numbers of a few examples, along with what error messages you're getting. Or just the error messages and type of asset if it's your own creation that's not on the DLS, if it's a reskin then the KUID number of the original it was reskinned from.

New errors, that's pretty common - I open an ancient 1.3 asset in content creator, fix the PM2IM and missing textures, save and commit - NOW content mangler looks at the asset in a different way because NOW it's a new build number, so NOW it complains about stuff like "icon0" tags and "bendy" tags which were okay for earlier builds but obsolete for later ones. Fix for that, edit in content creator again, hunt thru all the meshes and queues and string tables for the red lines, delete by clicking the X next to obsolete tags.

also sniper, what does it mean if a field in ccp is yellow.

and is the commit button the capital c next to those fields? if so, then when i click the big c, it goes back to CM and shows that one enginespec or whatever, buit says its obsolete.

On spartan cab, and GP40 shell and most of the errors shown here is due to it being made in a totally different mesh and format from trainz 10. However, these will work fine in trainz 2010 as long as ran in compatability mode. As for the missing dependices i do not know where you got it from. did you get it from USLW? if so then i might be able to help. If not, You might want to try yahoo or google. Those always help. Remeber not to include the "unknown location" for this screws the search up.

Re sniper297,

Here are a few of the items Im having trouble with.

Error: Texture 'mesh_body/map1.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'mesh_body\mesh_body.im'.

I have tried over and over to solve this missing mesh issue.

BNSF ES44AC <kuid2:113556:331129:1> Errors:

These are just a few, but I have 30 or so wellcars with the sam problem, multiple SD40's, and a load more with issues.

That's what all the icons mean, a yellow ! means it will probably run okay anyway, yellow puzzle piece means something is missing.

Ajsophios, BNSF SD40-2 H3 #6839 is the only one I can find on the DLS, if it's not on the DLS you also have to give a URL link to where you downloaded it from, www.bustedmodels.com or whatever it is. I would also advise not even trying stuff from third party websites until you learn to fix stuff, since you'll find most of it won't work out of the box. Looking at the one that I can get my hands on now, has some spelling mistakes in it among other things, I'll be back when I figure that one out.

Second post in this one;

http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?302069-My-choo-choo-is-broke!

See if you can follow that for the SD40. Reason I posted there instead of here is because they have a more logical policy restricting file size in kilobytes rather than image size in pixels (still don't understand how an 800x600 uncompressed image at 250 kilobytes is better than 1024x768 compressed to 100 kilobytes for saving bandwidth) and larger images make it easier to illustrate things.

TPR WellCars .GSE FIX

@Ajsophios:

To fix TPR WellCar .gse script errors:

Open the asset for edit in Explorer, (ctrl-shift-E) edit the Config file in notepad as follows:

1.) Replace the Script and Class tags with -

script "JR_Traincar"
class "JRTraincar"

2.) Copy/Add this script clip below the maxweight tag

script-include-table
{
traincar_fx_library <kuid2:45324:555200:1>
}

3.) Add <kuid2:45324:555200:1> at the end of the kuid table

- the line no. will either be 13 or 14 depending on the asset

14 <kuid2:45324:555200:1>

4.) Delete the icon0 tag and kuid - The validation process will show this tag to be obsolete other wise.
You can also delete this tag in CCP at validation if you like.

5.) Save the script

6.) Open a JR TrainCar asset in explorer and copy the jr_traincar.gs into the
Wellcar folder, then remove the wellcar.gse script, close the wellcar folder

7.) Open the Wellcar asset in CCP and save.

8
.) Validation at this point MAY produce an error showing the flatcar.gs file
(located within the JR FX Library) as un-readable. I found that re-opening the asset in CCP and re-saving
can fix this issue. You may have to revert the asset to original (ctrl-R) and re-do the above steps. I had to do this
with only 2 of the 12 WellCars I fixed.

Critical - FINAL NOTE : The Correct JR library for these wellcars has to be loaded - both are necessary as v1.1a is linked to the 1st library which is UN-EDITABLE.

A.) Jointed Rail Train Effects librarykuid2:45324:555200:1 which is obsolete in TS12
B.) AND Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.1a kuid2:45324:555200:1

A BIG HUGE WHOPPER of a THANKS :clap::Y: to JohhnyC1 from TPR for responding to my initial thread here http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?86105-TPR-GSE-Script-Errors-TS12&p=960273#post960273

Thankyou Guys, this is awesome I have these working in TS12!!!!! I missed them.

I couldn't get it to work until I understood by the CCP reference which obviously is Content Creator Plus

Hi sniper297

I just want to mention that the green icon for 'good to go' does not always mean what it says in CMP ...I backdated stuff ( or attempted to :confused: ) and after fixing and fidgeting and finding this all clear icon came up on all the relevant grouped assets involved, including 'view in railyard' that is active, but not one of them will appear in railyard, only their names are there.I have no doubt messed something up, and pse don't ask me what I did.

I recently downloaded the well cars and ran into the problems described here. I think I understand what to do but I'm somewhat confused by the final statement.
"Critical - FINAL NOTE : The Correct JR library for these wellcars has to be loaded - both are necessary as v1.1a is linked to the 1st library which is UN-EDITABLE.

B.) AND Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.1a kuid2:45324:555200:1"

When I look at what I have installed and what's available on the DTS the lowest number I have is 555200:4 which does show a description of ... Effects library v1.1a. However that is also shown as obsolete. The only current Train Effects library is showing as 555200:14 with a description of v 1.26e. I can't find 555200:1 anyplace that I've looked. Are we saying that I have to have both 1 and 1.1a. If so I'm not sure where to find 1 and I assume that I can specify and obsolete number as long as it is installed which means for 1.1a I have to use 55200:4. As you can tell I'm pretty confused.
